The last-place Detroit Pistons (12-37, 6-19 away) are back on the road Thursday as they head to the Big Apple for a matchup with the Kevin Durant-less Brooklyn Nets (29-18, 13-7 home) at the Barclays Center. The tip-off is set for 7:30 PM ET. Read on for our Pistons vs Nets prediction.
Detroit continues to lose, dropping four in a row. That includes a 150-130 defeat on Monday to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks. As for Brooklyn, they saw a two-game winning streak end on Wednesday when the Philadelphia 76ers beat them in Ben Simmons’ forgettable return to the City of Brotherly Love.
Pistons vs Nets Odds

Detroit Pistons | +9 (-110) | +330 | OFF |
Brooklyn Nets | -9 (-110) | -410 | OFF |

By no surprise, the Nets are heavily favored by nine points but have gone just 8-11-1 ATS at home. Their moneyline odds come in at -410, which offers little value.
Brooklyn is unbeaten in seven against Detroit, including a 124-121 win back in December.

Pistons Betting Outlook
Another season, another disappointment for the lowly Pistons. They currently have the second-worst record in the Association at 12-37, with the Houston Rockets sitting at rock bottom. It doesn’t help that franchise cornerstone Cade Cunningham is out for the season with a tibia fracture, either.
The only actual bright spots on this roster are Bojan Bogdanovic and rookie Jaden Ivey. Bogdanovic, who is a possible candidate to be moved at the trade deadline next month, is averaging a team-best 21.5 points, on 42% shooting from downtown. Ivey meanwhile is posting 15.1 points per night and profiles to be a key piece for the future.

The offense actually had a really good night Monday against a stout Bucks defense, but the squad struggled to contain Milwaukee on the opposite end, allowing 150 points. Bogdanovic went off for 33, while Jalen Duren dropped 23 points and brought down 15 boards. Ivey also scored 12 and dished out 11 dimes. Detroit is now 2-8 in their last 10 outings.
Nets Betting Outlook
Brooklyn is managing to stay afloat without Kevin Durant, but his absence is definitely felt. The superstar is still sidelined due to a knee injury and will be re-evaluated in two weeks, which means the Nets still have some work ahead of them to keep playing competitive basketball.
While Kyrie Irving is undoubtedly doing his part by averaging over 35 PPG across the last four contests, he’s not getting enough help. Simmons in particular is struggling to score the rock and just lacks the aggressiveness to attack the hoop. But, Kyrie did have support in Philly. Seth Curry erupted for 32 points on 7 for 10 shooting from deep, while Irving collected 30 as well.

Jacque Vaughn’s squad did a lot of things right against the Sixers. They shot the ball well and got timely contributions from several players. That being said, their 16 turnovers translated into 23 points for Philadelphia. To keep up with a full-strength 76ers squad when Brooklyn had no Durant showed guts, though. It wasn’t a bad loss by any means.
Pistons vs Nets Prediction
The last two meetings between Detroit and Brooklyn were closer than nine points. Plus, the Nets have only covered in four of their last nine home games. Take the Pistons to keep this one competitive.
