The game total is sitting at 221.5, which is two points lower than the teams’ first meeting last Wednesday, which only reached 206 points in regulation before another 23 points in OT sent the final score (119-116) over the total of 223.5.

Kevin Durant had a team-high 25 points for the Suns in the win while Bradley Beal added 24 and Devin Booker had 15 on just 5-of-9 shooting from the floor in an uncharacteristically lethargic performance.

James Harden was all-world in a losing effort, dropping 29 points with 12 rebounds and eight assists. Ivica Zubac added 21 points and nine boards for the Clippers.

Thursday’s Suns vs Clippers props list Durant with the highest point total at 25.5. Durant leads the Suns in scoring in the early going at 29.0 PPG and has hit at least 30 in his last three.

Harden (23.5 PPG) has the highest total on the Clippers side at 23.5. Since dropping 29 against the Suns in the first game of the season, The Beard has been held to 23 or fewer in each of the last three. Harden scored just 19 points on an ugly 6-of-18 performance from the field last time out in a disappointing 106-105 home loss to Portland as 8.5-point favorites.

Suns vs Clippers Prediction

Without Paul George, who’s now in Philly, and Kawhi Leonard, who’s still injured, the Clippers are struggling to score. Their O-Rating of 108.4 is a lowly 24th in the NBA. Their D-Rating of 105.1 is a stunning third at the moment (I say “stunning” because they finished 16th last season) and it won’t stay there for long based on the personnel coach Ty Lue is working with.

I’m not prepared to bet the Clippers to win over the full 48 minutes. But coming off a brutal home loss to the Blazers, I do expect a huge push right off the jump from LAC.

PHX vs LAC picks:

  • Clippers first quarter moneyline (+124) – 2.0 units
  • Harden over 23.5 points (-120)

Sascha Paruk’s 2024-25 NBA betting record: 7-8 (-1.02 units). All wagers 1 unit unless stated otherwise.
