With no NBA team having ever come back from a 3-0 series deficit, it’s about as close to do-or-die as you can get for the Memphis Grizzlies, who are big home underdogs in the NBA odds when they host the OKC Thunder in Game 3 of their first-round series on Thursday.

Thunder vs Grizzlies tips off at 9:30pm ET from FedExForum ion Memphis, with TNT carrying the broadcast.

OKC, the West’s top seed, is a hefty 8.5-point road favorite, and a very short -390 on the moneyline. The total sits at 227 points, and these two high-octane scoring teams have cashed the Under in five straight meetings.

OKC Thunder vs Memphis Grizzlies Picks

  • Thunder vs Grizzlies pick: Over 227.0 points (-110)

If there’s ever a game where the Grizzlies throw the kitchen sink at the Thunder, Game 3 has to be it.

Memphis was the no. 2 scoring team in the NBA during the regular season, putting up 121.7 points per game, but they haven’t been able to crack 100 against the Thunder defense, and are scoring a playoff-worst 89.5 points per game.

Credit OKC for their defense, but there are a lot of self-inflicted wounds the Grizzlies are putting on themselves. They are shooting a paltry 24.6% from 3-point range, the only team in the playoffs not hitting at a 30% clip or better.

They also lead the playoffs in turnovers at 19.5 per game, and the Thunder have made them pay, averaging 24.5 points per game in this series off those takeaways.

Despite OKC’s dominance, we’ve yet to hear hardly a peep from NBA MVP odds favorite Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is averaging just 21 points per game on 33.3% shooting, including a dismal 4-for-17 from 3-point range.

The depth of the Thunder has masked SGA’s slow start, as all starters hit double-digit scoring in Game 1, while the Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren each topped 20 points in Game 2, while the bench has averaged 42 points per game in the series.

I expect the Grizzlies to finally awake from their slumber — it’s the first time they’ve been held under 100 in back-to-back games all year — but for OKC to match that in what should be a wild, high-scoring Game 3.

Thunder vs Grizzlies prop bet: Morant Over 24.5 points (-105)

It hasn’t exactly shaped up to be a battle of a pair of the premiere point guards in the NBA, but Ja Morant should be the best player on the floor for the Grizzlies if they want to compete with the Thunder.

So far, he’s only averaging 20 points a game on a rough 38.1% from the field. Morant did try to attack the rim, but he was met with a long list of defenders waiting from his drive, as evidenced by his 10-for-25 night from the field.

OKC has now held him Under 25 points in five straight, but look for Morant to be the scoring dynamo that propelled Memphis into the playoffs in Game 3.
