Despite his long injury layoff, and the plethora of bodies Detroit can throw at him, Jalen Brunson continues to perform in the NBA playoffs. His teammates need to catch up. Brunson hasn’t been as efficient in prior years, but he’s scoring the ball at will against the Pistons.

However, Cunningham has matched him nearly bucket-for-bucket through the first two games of this first-round series. The favorite to win the NBA’s Most Improved Player award has put his stamp on both games, putting up 33 points and 12 rebounds to lead his team to a Game 2 victory.

Looking at Knicks vs Pistons Game 3 player props, Mitchell Robinson has been a monster on the glass of late, exceeding six rebounds in five of his last eight games. The Knicks’ big man has averaged seven boards a night in that time period. Most importantly, Robinson’s averaging 11.5 potential boards per night during that stretch. Back Mitchell Robinson to exceed his player prop once again on Thursday night.

Back Brunson to continue his scoring streak against Detroit in Game 3. The star point guard dropped 37 on in Game 2, after scoring 34 in Game 1. I’m also betting Cunningham to grab seven or more rebounds at plus money after he’s averaged nine boards per game this series. Cunningham’s averaged 11.1 potential rebounds across his last 10 games, and should have no trouble finding the basketball early and often in Game 3.

I’m banking on this Knicks vs Pistons series continuing to devolve into a true grit-and-grind battle. With the odds nearly even for Game 3, Thursday night’s game is too close to call. On top of that, sportsbooks have begun to adjust to the slower pace, and half-court battle of the playoffs. Thus, there’s little value left on the under.

Having said that, the Knicks scored just 27 first-quarter points in Game 1, and followed that up with only 18 in Game 2. I’m backing Detroit’s defense to lock in at home and limit New York’s offensive output early in Game 1. Fade the Knicks and back New York’s under 27.5 first-quarter total at -112 odds.
