After a pair of wins at home, the New York Knicks (32-27, 16-12 away) hit the road to face the Atlanta Hawks (29-29, 15-15 home) on Wednesday evening at State Farm Arena. The tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM ET. Read on for the Knicks vs Hawks prediction.
NY is looking good lately and just wiped the floor with the new-look Brooklyn Nets on Monday behind a 40-point performance from Jalen Brunson. As for Atlanta, they lost 144-138 to LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets in a very high-scoring affair where absolutely no defense was found.

The Hawks are laying 2.5 points but have gone just 11-19 as an ATS favorite in 2022-23. The Knicks meanwhile are 16-13-1 as an ATS underdog and 18-10 ATS overall on the road.
Atlanta has been the more dominant team this season, winning two of three meetings between the Eastern Conference foes.

Knicks Smelling Playoffs
New York made a big splash in the offseason by signing point guard Jalen Brunson and needless to say, it’s paying off. The former Dallas Maverick is averaging 23.9 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.6 rebounds while shooting 41% from deep. He’s playing a massive part in the Knicks’ solid campaign, where the team is just a half-game out of the final playoff berth in the East.
Brunson torched Brooklyn Monday, erupting for 40 to lead the way as NY ended a nine-game losing skid against their city foes. Josh Hart, who the Knicks just acquired at the trade deadline, also dropped 27 points off the bench. Hart played college ball at Villanova with Brunson, too.
"[Jalen Brunson's] playing as well as any guard in the NBA, outside of maybe Damian Lillard. … His impact on winning and culture in New York is unmistakable."

Tom Thibodeau’s squad shot a blistering 44% from long range and really played a clean game of basketball, committing a mere eight turnovers. After beating the Jazz on Saturday as well, the Knicks will be looking to make it three consecutive victories when they roll into Atlanta.
Hawks Need to Bounce Back
Losing to the lowly Hornets is one thing, but giving up more than 140 points is another. There is no question the Hawks won’t be happy with that outcome. Nate McMillan’s group should be very motivated to respond at home. Plus, their success against the Knicks this season is a positive sign, beating them by an average of 14 points in the two wins.
Atlanta put together a collective effort offensively in Charlotte, with nearly every player in the rotation finishing in double-figures in points. Trae Young dropped a team-best 25 points, while big man Clint Capela compiled 22 and seven boards. The Hawks even shot a perfect 100% from the charity stripe.

However, the real difference-maker was their inability to contain the Hornets’ shooting. They went 20 for 37 from long range and shot 63% from the field. Sure, Charlotte got hot, but Atlanta didn’t make it nearly difficult enough on them defensively.
Knicks vs Hawks Prediction
I’m loving the Knicks’ ATS record on the road and they’re truly playing great basketball at the moment. New York will cover and expose the Hawks’ lackluster defense.
Pick: Knicks +2.5 (-110)
