- A total of 10 NBA games are scheduled for Friday night
- Among the highlights is a matchup of the Ball brothers as LaMelo’s Charlotte Hornets visit Lonzo’s Pelicans
- The available prop bets for the entire slate and a couple of picks can be found below
It will be a busy Friday night in the NBA, as 10 games are on the schedule.
One of the most interesting matchups of the slate has the Charlotte Hornets visiting the New Orleans Pelicans in what will amount to a Ball family reunion. Lonzo is in his third year with the Pelicans, while LaMelo is a rookie with the Hornets.
The game will mark the first time in NBA that two players selected within the top three picks of a draft will square off. Lonzo was the No. 2 overall pick in 2018 and LaMelo was taken third in 2020.

Harden Bounce Back
It has been a rocky season so far for Houston Rockets guard James Harden.
Unhappy that the Rockets did not bring back Mike D’Antoni as coach, he wants out of Houston. Harden missed the first day of training camp, then helped cause the postponement of the Rockets’ opener because he violated COVID-19 protocols.
On Wednesday, Harden scored just 15 points in 39 minutes in a 114-107 loss to the Indiana Pacers. That led to former Rockets great Calvin Murphy saying Harden “quit” into a hot mic during a cutaway to a commercial on Houston’s television post-game show.

Considering everything that has transpired in the last few weeks, it is easy to wonder if Harden is giving less than full effort. In fairness, though, he has also been playing with a sore ankle.
The Rockets host the Magic on Friday and Orlando is sixth in the NBA in points allowed at 106.0 a game. Nevertheless, look for a motivated Harden to have a big night.
If he wants out of Houston, pouting is not necessarily going to get him traded. Playing up to his standard will.
- Pick: James Harden over 29.5 points (-115, 1 unit)
Time to Smarten Up
Boston Celtics guard Marcus Smart has been hampered by a thumb injury during the early part of the season and it seems to have affected his shooting. His field goal percentage is just 37.2% through eight games.
However, Smart is still a threat from long range as he is shooting 40.5% on 3-pointers, which is a career high. He is also taking his share of shots from beyond the arc with an average of 5.3 a game.
The Celtics can’t make anything early on so of course Marcus Smart makes this 😂pic.twitter.com/JeUiDes9nF

The Celtics face the Wizards, who are last in the league in points allowed at 122.9 a game. Washington is also 28th among the 30 teams in field goal percentage allowed (49.7%) and 3-point percentage allowed (43.0%). And guards are shooting 49.2% against the Wizards.
It all adds to Smart looking like a good value play from downtown.
- Pick: Marcus Smart over 2.5 three-point field goals (+100, 1 unit)
