Two familiar Eastern Conference foes clash on Monday evening as the Atlanta Hawks (11-9, 4-5 away) visit the Philadelphia 76ers (10-9, 6-5 home) at the Wells Fargo Center for their third meeting of 2022-23. The tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM ET. Both teams grabbed a victory apiece thus far in the season series. Read on for the Hawks vs 76ers prediction.
The hawks dropped their second game in a row on Sunday, getting beaten 106-98 by the Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat at home. The depleted Sixers meanwhile managed to get by without their three stars again, winning their second straight contest against the Orlando Magic, this time by a whopping 30 points.

Hawks Looking to End Cold Skid
Atlanta is still slightly above .500 at 11-9 on the year, but they’re not playing great basketball lately. Nate McMillan’s squad is just 4-6 in their last 10 and even lost to the Houston Rockets before Sunday’s defeat to Miami. A big issue for the Hawks is shooting the ball at a consistent clip, draining 46.3% of their field goals and a mere 32.7% of their three-pointers, which ranks 26th in the Association. The loss of Kevin Huerter has hurt.
Poor efficiency was again an issue versus the Heat, shooting a poor 40% overall and just 10 for 36 from deep. Trae Young had 22 points, 14 assists, and five rebounds, while John Collins, the subject of trade rumors, had 23 and 14 boards. Dejounte Murray was quiet here with only 13 points.

For a team that is rather athletic, they got absolutely cooked in transition (14-6 in fast-break points) and were overmatched in the paint, with Miami outscoring them 58-34. The Sixers are obviously missing some huge pieces but the Hawks can’t take Philly for granted.
Sixers Showing Their Depth
Sure, the Magic aren’t exactly a superior opponent, but with a couple of future All-Stars in Paolo Banchero and Franz Wagner, they’re not a pushover either. But even with no Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, or James Harden, the 76ers managed to get by Orlando in back-to-back games.
Friday was a slim eight-point win but Sunday was a much different story. This depleted Philadelphia rotation really came together and flourished, with a lot of their damage coming from the second unit. In fact, there were 57 points off the bench from Paul Reed, Danuel House, Furkan Korkmaz, and Georges Niang.

In the starting lineup, Shake Milton continued to prove he deserves a bigger role when the stars return. The guard showed out for 29 points, seven dimes, and five rebounds on an impressive 10 for 13 clip from the field, doing a great job of running the show at PG.
Tobias Harris also had 25 points, taking advantage of an opportunity to shine. Doc Rivers’ group shot a sharp 41% from long range and 65% from the field. In more ways than one, the Sixers looked phenomenal.
Hawks vs 76ers Prediction
Philly has won four of the last five regular season matchups at Wells Fargo against the Hawks. Sure, they’re still shorthanded, but this team is finding their identity right now and just grabbed a statement victory. The Sixers will ride the momentum.
Pick: 76ers moneyline (-102)
