  • The Grizzlies visit the Warriors in a Saturday night Western Conference showdown
  • Golden State is a 2.5-point home favorite in the latest Grizzlies vs Warriors odds
  • Read on for Grizzlies vs Warriors predictions, picks, odds and injury updates for Saturday

The Memphis Grizzlies will look to continue their strong play when they take on the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center on Saturday night. Tipoff is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. ET on NBA TV.

Golden State returns home after beating the Philadelphia 76ers 139-105 on Thursday behind a 30-point outburst from Stephen Curry. However, Curry is now listed as out with a knee injury for this matchup. The Warriors sit at 17-16, good for 9th in the Western Conference.

The latest Grizzlies vs Warriors odds show Golden State as slim 2.5-point home favorites, with a hefty total of 232.5 points. Can the Warriors still get it done and cover the spread without their superstar point guard?

Let’s break down my Grizzlies vs Warriors picks and predictions for Saturday, January 4.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prediction

The Grizzlies enter this game with a 23-12 record, second-best in the West. They’ve been a juggernaut offensively, leading the NBA in scoring at 123.5 points per game.

Jaren Jackson Jr. has been the catalyst, averaging a team-high 22.3 points on an efficient 49% shooting. Desmond Bane is right behind him at 16.5 points per game while dishing out five assists. The Grizz will be without their own star guard Ja Morant though, who remains out with a shoulder injury.

Golden State got a much-needed win over Philly last time out to snap a two-game skid. However, Curry’s absence looms large in this one. The two-time MVP is putting up 22.3 points and 6.5 assists per game to lead the Warriors attack.

With Curry out, look for Jonathan Kuminga to take on a bigger scoring role after dropping 34 twice in his last four games off the bench. Andrew Wiggins and Draymond Green will also need to step up.

The Grizzlies have the edge in rebounding, grabbing 48.7 boards per game compared to 47.2 for the Warriors. Memphis also dishes out more assists at 30.5 per game vs Golden State’s 28.8.

Both teams rank in the top 10 in defensive efficiency, but I give a slight edge to the Grizz, who allow 114.8 points per 100 possessions compared to 110.4 for the Dubs. Memphis is also 6-2 ATS in the last eight meetings.

Even on the road and without Morant, I lean towards the Grizzlies +2.5 with Curry out for Golden State. The over also looks enticing given the high total and offensive firepower on both sides. Don’t be surprised if the Grizz win this one outright.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Grizzlies +2.5 (-110) +120 O 232.5 (-115)
Warriors -2.5 (-110) -140 U 232.5 (-105)

The Grizzlies enter this matchup as short 2.5-point road underdogs at top sportsbooks. Memphis backers can get the Grizz at -110 odds to cover the spread, while Golden State sits at the same -110 price to cover as home favorites.

On the moneyline, the Grizzlies are +120 underdogs to win outright. A $100 bet on Memphis returns $120 in profit if they pull the upset. The Warriors are -140 moneyline favorites, so it would take a $140 bet to win $100 on a Golden State victory.

The game total is set at a lofty 232.5 points, with the over at -115 odds and the under at -105. Bettors would need to wager $115 to win $100 on the over, or $105 to win $100 on the under.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Injury Report

Team Player Status Injury
Grizzlies Ja Morant OUT Shoulder
Grizzlies Zach Edey GTD Concussion
Warriors Stephen Curry OUT Knee
Warriors Andrew Wiggins GTD Hamstring

The Grizzlies will again be without star point guard Ja Morant, who is targeting a January 6 return from his shoulder injury. Center Zach Edey is questionable as he works through concussion protocol.

For the Warriors, Stephen Curry has already been ruled out with a knee issue that will sideline him until at least January 5. Andrew Wiggins is also questionable with a hamstring injury.

With stars missing on both sides, depth will be key in this one. Be sure to check for the latest NBA injury updates before placing any Grizzlies vs Warriors bets.
