After winning Game 1 112-110 in overtime, the Denver Nuggets (38-46-1 ATS) couldn’t keep the momentum going in their first-round NBA Playoff series against the Los Angeles Clippers (50-35 ATS). The following two outings saw a modest 3-point victory for LA, and Thursday, they laid a 117-83 beating on the Nuggets.

Unsurprisingly, the books are leaning towards the home team in Game 4, which goes Saturday at 6pm ET/3pm PT from Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, with TNT carrying the broadcast in the United States and TSN in Canada.

Denver faced two significant injuries that affected how Game 3 played out, with Russell Westbrook dealing with left foot inflammation. He turned his foot while warming up before the game and attempted to play through the injury before being taken out midway through the second quarter.

Michael Porter Jr. injured his left, non-shooting shoulder while diving for a ball near the end of Game 2, suffering a Grade 2 sprain of a joint in his shoulder. He fought through it in Game 3, but shot just 2-for-9 from the field in 35 minutes, and he’s unsure if he can play Saturday.

The Clippers are the fifth choice in the NBA Championship odds with their best price of +2000 found at DraftKings, while the Nuggets are well behind them at +10000 on BetMGM.

In Game 3, Nikola Jokic became the first player in NBA playoff history to have consecutive 20-point triple doubles and lose both games, as he put up 23 points, 13 rebounds, and 13 assists in Game 3. With Westbrook missing most of the contest, and Porter Jr. attempting to battle through his injuries, the 3-point field goal discrepancy was stark – LA was 18-for-39 (46%), while their counterparts were just 7-for-26 from downtown (27%).

The Clippers have been rolling, having taken 20 of their last 24 games. The 34-point triumph in Game 3 was their third-largest margin of victory ever in a playoff contest, and they’re 17-3 in the last 20 with Kawhi Leonard suiting up. He’s been excellent in the series, with at least 21 points in all three outings, and in Game 2, was otherworldly, going 15-for-19 from the field. He racked up 39 points for a 92.0 true-shooting percentage, the seventh-highest true-shooting percentage in a 35-point game in NBA playoff history.

Something to keep in mind, – it’s the tenth time the Clippers have held a 2-1 lead in a best-of-7 series. They’ve won just four of those previous nine series, the only team in NBA history with a losing series record in that scenario. However, I’m still selecting the Clippers to cover the 6-point spread, since they’re the fourth-best team covering (50-35), and are 30-20 ATS as a favorite, compared to Denver 11-11 as the underdog.
