Boston Celtics vs. Los Angeles Lakers  Odds

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Boston Celtics -6.5 (-105) -250 O 184.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Lakers +6.5 (-115) +205 U 184.5 (-110)

As you can see, the Celtics are fairly considerable favorites for tonight’s matchup. The Lakers have more experience in the Summer League, but the Celtics roster may be a little more experienced and faced a Los Angeles squad that has frankly struggled since the start of the California Summer League in early July.

The Celtics are -6.5 favorites and sit at -250 ML. Los Angeles, meanwhile, is +205 ML and -115 to keep the game within 7 points or come away with a win.

Summer League Rosters: Dalton Knecht, Bronny James, Baylor Scheierman Highlight Players To Watch

There are some incredible young players facing off in Monday night’s matchup, 4 of whom were drafted in this recent draft.

Dalton Knecht is the highest drafted of the 4, though he fell from the top 10 all the way to No. 17. Knecht has had a fantastic Summer League thus far, recently dropping 25 points with 6 rebounds against the Rockets on Friday.

Of course there’s also Bronny James, who was selected No. 55 overall out of USC. The son of the greatest basketball player perhaps ever, James has struggled some to adjust to NBA speed thus far.

Here’s a full look at Los Angeles’s Summer League unit:

The Celtics earned an enormous game from Jaden Springer on Saturday, who dropped 23 points with 6 assists as the Celtics barely fell to Miami. Springer has spent 4 years in the NBA with the 76ers and Celtics and averages around 4 points per game.

The Celtics drafted Anton Watson out of Gonzaga and Baylor Scheierman out of Creighton in this recent cycle. Scheierman dropped 13 on Saturday and Watson totaled 8.

Lakers vs. Celtics Picks & Predictions

No disrespect whatsoever to the Lakers, but this team is really bad outside of Dalton Knecht folks.

Los Angeles has lost all 4 Summer League games they’ve competed in, with only 1 of those 4 being remotely close. The Lakers have failed to score 80 twice and 70 once. In their most recent game Knecht had 25 of the Lakers’ 80 points and was the only player to eclipse 12 points.

The Celtics fell in their first Summer league game, but it was a close and competitive matchup against a team that features Jaime Jacquez – a legitimate NBA starter on a playoff team. Josh Christopher, who has played NBA minutes as well, dropped 20 in that game for Miami, too.

For that reason, I expect Boston to win this one convincingly. The Celtics really played well on Saturday and we should see more time for Boston’s draft picks to shine Monday night.

LAL vs. BOS picks:

  • BOS -6.5 (-105)
