The second-place Boston Celtics (46-21, 20-12 away) will begin a lengthy six-game road trip on Saturday evening when they visit Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks (34-33, 16-20 home) at State Farm Arena.
The tip-off for this Eastern Conference matchup is scheduled for 7:30pm ET. Read on for the Celtics vs Hawks odds.
Boston blew out the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday and come in well-rested. That was their first win in three games. Atlanta, meanwhile, took down the Washington Wizards Friday in the front end of a back-to-back.
Celtics vs Hawks Odds

The C’s are favored by five points on the road and have covered in 53.7% of their games this season. They sit at -215 NBA odds while the Hawks come back at +180. Atlanta is 3-2 as a home ATS underdog. The Celtics are unbeaten in the last three meetings with the Hawks.

Boston Betting Outlook
It felt like only a matter of time until the Celtics hit a bump in the road and that was evident over the last week, losing to the Knicks, Nets, and Cavaliers. Joe Mazzulla’s team even blew a massive lead against Brooklyn at the Garden, which left their fans absolutely furious.
After hitting a cold spell, the Bucks have now surpassed them at the top of the East, with Boston trailing Milwaukee by 2.5 games. Not a huge deal, but the C’s will want to get back on track. Wednesday was a definite step in the right direction, manhandling the Blazers at home, 115-93.

With a nearly full-strength rotation, the Celtics put in work, with the entire starting five finishing in double figures. Jayson Tatum continued his solid campaign with 30 points on 11-for-17 shooting from the field, while Derrick White scored 21.
Saturday presents another opportunity for this fourth-ranked offense to take advantage of a Hawks group who are putrid defensively.
Atlanta Betting Outlook
The Hawks moved above .500 on Friday evening and continue to make a playoff push under new head coach Quin Snyder. That’s now two victories in a row for the team, both over the Washington Wizards. They’re currently holding the eighth seed for the play-in tournament in the NBA Playoff Bracket.
Young was the star of the show in DC, scoring a game-high 28 points while also dishing out nine assists. The guard couldn’t miss from downtown, going 6-for-10. In fact, Atlanta shot the rock extremely well here, draining 48% of their triples. That overrides the fact the Hawks got absolutely dominated in the paint.

De’Andre Hunter scored 18 as well, while Dejounte Murray added 16. Now, Snyder’s squad returns home for a three-game homestand, but it won’t be an easy one. The Timberwolves and Warriors visit after Boston leaves town, two teams fighting for their playoff lives out West.
Celtics vs Hawks Prediction
Boston beat Atlanta by 25 points in November and has comfortably covered in three consecutive matchups. The spread isn’t huge here either. With a relatively clean injury report except for the ongoing absence of Robert Williams, I don’t see the C’s having any problem taking this one convincingly.
Pick: Celtics -5 (-110)
