Tuesday evening brings an intriguing Eastern Conference clash as the Boston Celtics (54-24, 25-15 away) hit the road to face Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers (51-27, 28-11 home) at Wells Fargo Center. Boston will be looking to sweep the season series, having won the previous three meetings in 2022-23. The tip-off is scheduled for 8 PM ET.
The C’s have captured back-to-back victories, taking down the Utah Jazz on Friday evening. They come in well-rested. The Sixers on the other hand lost to Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday by a score of 117-104.
Celtics vs 76ers Odds
Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Boston Celtics | +2.5 (-110) | +120 | OFF |
Philadelphia 76ers | -2.5 (-110) | -140 | OFF |
Dominant at home, Philly is a 2.5-point favorite. They have the best overall ATS record in the Association at 45-32-1. The 76ers also have -140 moneyline odds, while the Celtics sit at +120. Boston has only been an underdog six times this season but has gone 5-1.

Odds as of April 3rd at DraftKings Sportsbook.
Boston is Hot
The C’s are playing phenomenal basketball at the perfect time as just four games remain before the postseason. They’re 7-3 in their last 10 matchups and most notably, just wiped the floor with the Bucks last week, annihilating them by 41 points. Milwaukee is seen as Boston’s biggest roadblock to making it back to the NBA Finals, therefore it was a very impressive win.
Also, the top seed does remain in reach, depending if Joe Mazzulla decides to rest some of his starters prior to the playoffs or just let them play through. The C’s sit two games back of the Bucks at the moment and essentially have second place locked up in the NBA Playoff Bracket.

By no surprise, Tatum was the star of the show against Utah, erupting for 39 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Six players finished in double figures as the Celtics showcased their depth. Jaylen Brown, who is in a rut lately, is questionable Tuesday with back pain, while Robert Williams is taking a rest day. More of a workload for Tatum is in the cards.
76ers Looking to Salvage Season Series
Philly is comfortably in third place and finally has a clean injury report for Tuesday’s affair. While The Sixers will likely end up with the no. 3 seed, beating the Celtics at least once is seen as important considering they’re not only an East foe but also a divisional rival.
Doc Rivers’ group isn’t in great shape at the moment though, dropping four of their previous six outings. A brief two-game winning streak came to a halt in Milwaukee as Giannis outdueled Embiid. The Greek Freak went off for 33 points and reeled in 14 boards, while the Cameroonian big man scored 28.

The supporting cast struggled for the 76ers, with Tyrese Maxey’s 29 points about the only other bright spot. James Harden had just 11 points in his third game back from injury. He really needs to get find his best again if this team is going to be a legitimate contender come playoff time.
Celtics vs 76ers Prediction
I highly doubt Boston allows Brown to play if he’s dealing with a minor injury, especially because the postseason is rapidly approaching. His absence might be just enough for the Sixers to take advantage and finally win one against the Celtics.
Pick: 76ers -2.5 (-110)
