The sons of NBA star LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers and former NBA guard Dwyane Wade are bringing their talents to Sierra Canyon prep school. Both Bronny James and Zaire Wade announced Thursday that they would be attending the school in the Los Angeles suburb of Chatsworth next fall.

Almost immediately, sportsbooks were out with a prop wager offering odds favoring that Sierra Canyon would not win the California Interscholastic Federation State Open Division basketball championship in 2019-20.

Sierra Canyon Home to Stars’ Offspring
The 2018-19 state title won by Sierra Canyon was helped along the way by the sons former NBA players Scottie Pippen and Kenyon Martin. The team posted a 32-3 record. Derek Fisher, Duane Washington, and Tellis Frank have sent sons to play there as well.

But the swanky private school isn’t merely home to kids of athletes.
Kevin Hart, Anthony Anderson, Will Smith, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kris Jenner, Jamie Foxx, and Berry Gordy have all enrolled their children at the school in past years.
Wade Getting College Offers
When his dad opted to retire from the NBA at the end of the season and relocate to LA, Zaire Wade also made the move west. He transferred from American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida.
Bronny James to Sierra Canyon has been a “done deal” for at least six weeks. The other “done deal” is that Zaire Wade, Dywane Wade’s son, who will be a senior next year will join Bronny this coming season at Sierra Canyon.

A three-star prospect, the younger Wade is a 6’2″ guard who’s had NCAA offers from DePaul and Nebraska.
James a Budding Star
Also a 6’2″ guard, the younger James will be enrolling in Sierra Canyon as a high school freshman. Previously, Bronny James, 14, was enrolled at Santa Monica Crossroads.

Though a long way from college, LeBron’s son is already turning heads with his basketball prowess. Duke coach Mike Kryzyzewski has been among those who’ve gone to see him play in person.
Within 24 hours of joining Instagram, the younger James had amassed 1 million followers.
Like Fathers, Like Sons?
In the summer of 2010, when James made his now-famous speech about taking his talents to South Beach, joining Wade and Chris Bosh with the Miami Heat, the club instantly became the solid favorites to win the NBA Championship. But it didn’t happen right away.

Miami lost the 2011 NBA Finals to the Dallas Mavericks before rebounding to win the title the next two springs.
The odds say that the younger versions of Wade and James won’t bring a state title to Sierra Canyon next season. We say buck those odds.

The easy, safe play is no. Don’t break your bank, but a small wager on yes at +250 offers a healthy return.
Why not take the risk?
Pick: Yes (+250)
