Did I mention there was star power in this one? Despite a thumb injury suffered late in the season, Steph Curry looms above all, with a scoring line set at 28.5 points, and an even more ridiculous 3-point prop line of 5.5.

YouTube video

Three others have been tabbed in the 20-point range, including Memphis point Ja Morant (26.5) — who also happens to have the highest assist prop at 7.5 — teammate Jaren Jackson Jr (20.5) and GState’s Jimmy Butler, in at 21.5 points.

Grizzlies’ big man Zach Edey leads all rebounding totals at 11.5, with Draymond Green the high man for the Dubs at 7.5. He’s also tied with Butler for the most assists on the Warriors, set at 6.5.

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prop Bet #1: Morant Threes

Of course, there’s a chance for Stephen Curry to go absolutely nuclear, but picking even the best shooter on the planet to nail six triples makes me a little skiddish.

Instead, I’ll happily take a flier on Ja Morant and his make line of 2.5, with an over at plus odds. Morant has gone from the fine-inducing gun shot celebration to a grenade launch, but it only matters because he’s been hitting so well from distance of late.

YouTube video

He enters the play-in shooting a stellar 41.3% from 3-point range on over nine attempts per contest, and has hit at least three triples in four of his last five games, which happens to be his hottest shooting streak of the year.

Golden State is one of the victims on his hit list, as he went 5-for-8 from distance, part of a 36-point effort in an eventual 134-125 Memphis loss.

Keeping Morant out of the paint should be priority one for the Dubs, but he can keep them honest if he continues firing at the rate he’s been going this late in the season.

  • Grizzlies vs Warriors prop pick: Morant over 2.5 three-pointers made (+120 at DraftKings)

Grizzlies vs Warriors Prop Bet #2: Jimmy Butler Points

What a surprise: as the Golden State Warriors got close to the postseason and the stakes got a little higher, Jimmy Butler found another gear. Of course, Playoff Jimmy is a thing, after memorable seasons in Miami willing the Heat to wins they had no business being in.

He’s been on cruise control on the Dubs since coming over at the trade deadline, averaging 17.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 5.4 assists on 50.4% shooting. While he allowed the other players on the roster to level up or down into their rightful roles, Butler scored less than 20 points 18 times in 30 games.

But that all changed to close out the year. Butler looked like his playoff-dominating self in the regular season finale against the Clips, going 12-for-20 from the field for 30 points — his high total since arriving in the Bay — and adding nine assists.

YouTube video

That’s three straight games he’s scored at least 24 points, including the last two, where Curry has been hobbled a bit by an injured thumb.

Butler felt he needed out of Miami because he wanted to find basketball happiness again. On Tuesday, he should be guns blazing in his most important start for his new team since coming over.

  • Grizzlies vs Warriors prop pick: Butler Over 21.5 points (-120 at DraftKings)
