Ladd’s Hot Streak
Germaine de Randamie (8-3) is riding a four-fight winning streak. The 35-year-old last fought back in November where she beat Raquel Pennington by decision to further herself as the top contender at bantamweight. Before that, she beat Holly Holm to win the inaugural featherweight title, but gave it up after not wanting to fight Cris Cyborg.
The Dutch fighter has also beaten the likes of Larissa Pacheco, and Julie Kedzie, among others. She also fought champion Amanda Nunes in 2013, losing by TKO.
Ladd (8-0) is coming off of a decision win over Sijara Eubanks at UFC Rochester back in May. Before that, the 24-year-old beat Tonya Evinger by TKO at UFC 229 and Lina Lansberg by TKO in her UFC debut. Ladd is one of the more promising prospects at bantamweight and has six wins by stoppage.

Germaine de Randamie vs Aspen Ladd is a really intriguing bout, where it is very close to pick’em odds which is how I thought the betting line would be. de Randamie has the advantage in experience and in the level of competition, while Ladd is considered a future champion as she continues to impress every fight.
On the ground is where Ladd has a big advantage as her grappling is next level.
On the feet, I believe de Randamie should have a slight advantage, but it is not a major one. They are both very good strikers and have shown they have the power to knock opponents out. On the ground is where Ladd has a big advantage as her grappling is next level, and she showed that in her last fight as she dominated Sijara Eubanks.
For the prospect, she needs to get the fight to the ground to have success, as the striking is rather even. While de Randamie needs to keep the fight on the feet and use her reach to pick apart the 24-year-old.
In the end, I believe Ladd gets it done, but it will be a super close fight.
Pick: Aspen Ladd (+125)
Urijah Faber vs Ricky Simon Odds
Fighter | Odds | Odds |
---|---|---|
Urijah Faber | +230 | +250 |
Ricky Simon | -300 | -300 |
Simon’s Been Active, Faber Not So Much
Faber (34-10) retired in December 2016 after beating Brad Pickett by decision. Since then, he has been focusing on coaching at his gym, Team Alpha Male, but has said he has the desire to return again. Throughout his career, the UFC Hall of Famer has beaten the likes of Frankie Saenz, Raphael Assuncao, Eddie Wineland, Jens Pulver, and Dominick Cruz, among others.
Simon (15-1) is undefeated in the UFC and one of the more promising prospects at bantamweight. He is coming off of a dominant decision win over Rani Yahya at UFC 234. He also has a decision win over Montel Jackson and a submission win over Merab Dvalishvili.

This is a fight where the UFC is looking to build a name off of Urijah Faber. Ricky Simon looks like he could be the future of the bantamweight division, and should he get past Faber it seems likely he would fight a top-10 opponent. For Faber, should he win, he could show the world he is still as good as he once was and could be serious about a return to the top.
However, I do not see that happening. I think Simon dominates this fight from the get-go and has his way with Faber. He will defend the takedowns and keep the fight standing and will be able to piece up the legend. But, I don’t think he will be able to finish him, but win a very dominant decision.
Pick: Ricky Simon (-300)
