Fight Record and Recent History
Moicano (13-2-1) is coming off of a TKO loss to former featherweight king, Jose Aldo, back in February. There, had he won, the expectation was that the Brazilian would have been fighting for the title. Before the loss to Aldo, the 30-year-old submitted Cub Swanson and beat Calvin Kattar by decision. He also holds a win over Jeremy Stephens, but does have a loss to Brian Ortega, where he was winning the fight until Oretga locked in a submission.

Sung Jung (14-5) is coming off of a knockout loss to Yair Rodriguez where he was knocked out with one second left in the fifth round. Before the loss to Rodriguez, Korean Zombie returned after serving his mandatory military service and he beat Dennis Bermudez. He also has wins over the likes of Dustin Poirier, Leonard Garcia, and Shintaro Ishiwatari. The 32-year-old has also fought for the featherweight title but lost to Jose Aldo by TKO.

Although neither have huge names to casual fans, this will be a contender for Fight of the Night. Both Moicanoa and Korean Zombie just move forward and absorb punches and keep on going. In Sung Jung’s last fight, he was taking everything Yair Rodriguez threw at him until the spinning elbow knocked him out.
As for Moicano, he has shown he is a top featherweight by winning the Ortega fight until the final two minutes when he got stopped. And, against Aldo, he had won the first round with his striking and footwork.
This fight will no doubt stay on the feet where I believe Moicano has more power and is a better technical striker. Whether or not he gets a finish is up in the air, but I believe Moicano wins this fight.
Pick: Renato Moicano (-210)
John Lineker vs Rob Font Odds
Fighter | Odds 1 | Odds 2 |
---|---|---|
John Lineker | -190 | -205 |
Rob Font | +155 | +175 |
Fight Record and Recent History
Lineker (31-9) is coming off of a split-decision loss to Cory Sandhagen at UFC Fort Lauderdale. Before the loss, the Brazilian was riding a two-fight winning streak with a knockout win over Brian Kelleher and a decision win over Marlon Vera. The 29-year-old fought Rob Font back at UFC 198 where Lineker won by unanimous decision. Lineker also holds wins over the likes of John Dodson, Michael MacDonald, and Ian McCall. Although he lost, he went the distance with TJ Dillashaw.

Font (16-4) is coming off of a dominant win over Sergio Pettis back at UFC Milwaukee. Before that, he lost to Raphael Assuncao, beat Thomas Almeida, and lost to Pedro Munhoz. He also holds wins over Douglas Silva de Andrade, and Matt Schnell, among others.

If Rob Font wants to right the wrong of their first fight he needs to keep Lineker at a distance, as Cory Sandhagen did. He also needs to utilize his wrestling and control the Brazilian on the ground.
As for Lineker, he just fought not too long ago, so is in good shape and didn’t take a huge amount of damage against Sandhagen. I see this fight going down with Lineker using his striking and hurting Font and finishing this fight late in the third. The Brazilian is a real threat at bantamweight and a win here will prove that. Although I think Lineker will win, I think it should be closer to a pick’em situation as this will be an extremely close fight.
Pick: John Lineker (-190)
