Will Conor McGregor ever fight again is a question many fans are wondering. The same was said after he boxed Floyd Mayweather in the summer of 2017, but did return last October to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov. Now, however, the lightweight division continues to move on.
And, so the opportunity to fight the likes of Donald Cerrone, Tony Ferguson and others may be gone. According to sportsbooks, they see Nate Diaz as the favorite to fight the Irishman, with Jorge Masvidal – who just finished whipping Ben Askren in UFC 239 – closing up the rear.
Conor McGregor’s Next Fight Odds Odds
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Nate Diaz | +225 |
Jorge Masvidal | +350 |
Khabib Nurmagomedov | +400 |
Dustin Poirier | +500 |
Tony Ferguson | +650 |
Donald Cerrone | +700 |

Is Nate Diaz a Good Bet?
It is hard to say if McGregor will fight again, and if so, who he will fight. There are no doubt several options, but one that always can happen is the Diaz trilogy. However, the Stockton native is taking on Anthony Pettis at UFC 241 and if he loses I think that takes all the steam away from it. If that fight is going to happen, Diaz needs to beat Pettis at UFC 241.

Also standing in the way of the trilogy fight is the fact that Diaz does not seem to want it. During an interview with ESPN, the McGregor trilogy fight was brought up and this is what he said.
“I’m not interested in it at all. I’m interested in winners. He lost his last fight and I won my last fight,” he said. “You think I’m trying to fight someone who just got his ass beat all over the place? I’m a black belt in jiu-jitsu. That sh*t wouldn’t happen to me.”
But, money talks and for the right price, I am sure Diaz would be interested, though I don’t think that is the next fight.
Who’s the Best Bet?
This may be crazy to some, but I only see McGregor coming back for a title shot. He has all the money in the world and doesn’t need to fight. So, in my eyes, the best bet is Khabib Nurmagomedov, as the two had the most pay-per-view buys in UFC history and it would be a big payday for all parties involved in the fight.

McGregor has been clamoring for that rematch for quite some time now, and I believe that is the only fight he comes back for. You have seen him turn down offers for Donald Cerrone and others because he is only after the belt and says he could beat Nurmagomedov in the rematch.
Pick: Khabib Nurmagomedov (+400)
