Will Pitbull’s Reign Continue?
Patricio Pitbull is the face of Bellator as the featherweight and lightweight champion, but Pedro Carvalho is someone who is always overlooked and proved people wrong.
Pitbull & Carvalho Recent Fights
Juan Archuleta, win by decision (title fight) | Fight 1 | Sam Sicilia, win by submission |
Michael Chandler, win by KO (title fight) | Fight 2 | Derek Campos, win by TKO |
Emmanuel Sanchez, win by decision (title fight) | Fight 3 | Luca Vitali, win by submission |
Daniel Weichel, win by split decision (title fight) | Fight 4 | Daniel Crawford, win by split decision |
Pedro Carvalho has his hands full on Thursday as he takes on one of the best featherweights alive in Patricio Pitbull. The Brazilian has legitimate one-punch KO power. Not to mention, he has solid wrestling and grappling skills, which allow him to dictate the pace. He has proven he can go five hard rounds while we haven’t seen Carvalho do that.
Pitbull vs Carvalho Stats
33 | Age | 25 |
5’5″ | Height | 5’11” |
65.5″ | Reach | 70″ |
11 | Bellator finishes | 3 |
Expect Carvalho to come out and try to take Pitbull down as there is no question his path to victory is to submit the champ. However, Pitbull has solid takedown defense. He will stuff the takedowns and eventually hurt Carvalho on the feet and get a late fourth or fifth-round TKO to defend his belt.
Unfortunately, at -625, the price is too high to play straight up, but he could be parlayed with another big favorite on the card.
Pick: Patricio Pitbull (-625)
Who’s 0 Will Go?
Yaroslav Amosov vs Logan Storley might be the best fight this entire weekend. Both men are undefeated with Amosov at 24-0 and Storley at 11-0.
Amosov & Storley Recent Fights
Mark Lemminger, win by TKO | Fight 1 | EJ Brooks, win by TKO |
Ed Ruth, win by decision | Fight 2 | Ion Pascu, win by decision |
David Rickles, win by submission | Fight 3 | AJ Matthews, win by TKO |
Erick Silva, win by decision | Fight 4 | Joaquin Buckley, win by decision |
What makes this fight so interesting is the fact both Amosov and Storley are phenomenal grapplers and they will both be eachothers toughest opponent to date.
Amosov has proven his striking is getting better every fight and I do believe he is the better wrestler. However, I expect this fight to stay standing and it will be Amosov using his jab to piece up Storley and win a decision.
Pick: Yaroslav Amosov (-215)
Other Bellator 252 Picks:
- Daniel Weichel (+190): They already fought with Weichel winning by split decision. This time, I expect Weichel to be the more volume striker and win the five-round decision to advance in the featherweight grand prix.
- Aaron Pico (-800): Pico should no doubt win this fight and likely by stoppage. However, you can not bet him at this price as we have seen Pico lose three times before as a massive favorite.
