Nemkov’s Bellator 268 Odds to Defend Belt
Not only is Vadim Nemkov looking to advance to the finals of the light heavyweight grand prix, but he will also be defending his belt against Julius Anglickas who entered the grand prix following Anthony Johnson’s withdrawal.
Nemkov & Anglickas Recent Fights
Phil Davis, win by decision (title fight) | Fight 1 | Gregory Millard, win by decision |
Ryan Bader, win by TKO (title fight) | Fight 2 | Alex Polizzi, win by decision |
Rafael Carvalho, win by submission | Fight 3 | Jordan Young, win by decision |
Phil Davis, win by split decision | Fight 4 | Karl Reed, win by submission |
Although many fans wanted to see Nemkov vs Johnson, this is still a very intriguing matchup as Anglickas has all the skills to be able to pull off the upset.
Nemkov has looked dominant in his Bellator run and surprised many with his TKO win over Ryan Bader to win the belt as the fight wasn’t all that close. He is very well-rounded and can win on the feet or use his wrestling to control the fight. As for Anglickas, he should’ve been signed to the UFC after his win on the Contender Series, but since signing with Bellator he has looked impressive.
Nemkov vs Anglickas Stats
29 | Age | 30 |
6’0″ | Height | 6’3″ |
76″ | Reach | 77″ |
4 | Bellator Finishes | 0 |
The big question entering the fight will be whether or not Anglickas has the cardio to go five hard rounds. He has never fought five rounds before, while Nemkov went the distance in his last fight. However, although he hasn’t shown, as of late, Anglickas does have finishing ability and can get ahold of a neck rather quickly.
Ultimately, I expect Nemkov to be able to keep the fight standing and just pick apart Anglickas on the feet. The champion is the much better striker, and throughout the fight, he will be able to hurt Anglickas and likely find the stoppage in the fourth or fifth round to defend his belt and advance to the finals.
Pick: Vadim Nemkov (-280)
Bader vs Anderson Betting Odds & Analysis
Ryan Bader vs Corey Anderson is a fascinating fight and the fight I am most interested in as both men are dominant wrestlers and when two wrestlers fight, it usually turns into a kickboxing fight.
Bader & Anderson Recent Fights
Lyoto Machida, win by decision | Fight 1 | Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov, win by TKO |
Vadim Nemkov, loss by TKO (title fight) | Fight 2 | Melvin Manhoef, win by TKO |
Cheick Kongo, No Contest (heavyweight title fight) | Fight 3 | Jan Blachowicz, loss by KO |
Fedor Emelianenko, win by KO (heavyweight title fight) | Fight 4 | Johnny Walker, win by TKO |
Both Bader and Anderson had success in the UFC, and they have parlayed that into success in Bellator, including Bader having won belts at light heavyweight and heavyweight. But, after losing to Nemkov he has made it clear he wants that rematch, and if both men win, they would rematch for the belt and the light heavyweight grand prix title.
Ultimately, I do think this fight will stay standing for the most part, and Bader will be able to catch Anderson with something big and hurt him on the feet and eventually finish him via TKO.
Pick: Ryan Bader (+134)
Other Bellator 268 Picks:
- Brent Primus (-110): Primus will be able to use his wrestling to control the fight and win a clear-cut decision as Henderson has no doubt slowed down.
- Henry Corrales (-140): Corrales should be able to keep this fight standing and just out volume Parubchenko to earn a decision victory.
