  • It’s time to focus on a gigantic 15-game MLB slate for Friday, April 18
  • With a slate this big, it should be easy for us to pull out a couple of dinger bets to parlay
  • See below for my two-leg, +2915 MLB home run parlay today

It’s Friday and damn it, that means giant MLB slate. We’re at the time of the year where every single Friday we can expect a chance at life-changing cash. If we’re being honest, I like it. I might even more than like it. I’d go as far as saying I love it.

With a slate like the one we’re looking at today, it’s important to go through every single matchup with a fine-toothed comb. We’re looking at wind, pitch mix, and recent EV logs. This game we play isn’t for the weak and lazy. Only for those of us willing to dive deep to get the cash we so truly deserve.

Lucky for us, I already did the work and found two guys who could easily change our lives forever. Keep reading.

Friday MLB Home Run Parlay Leg #1 – Ryan Mountcastle to Hit a Home Run

What we need right now is a guy who is 100% going to hit the ball over the fence tonight. Nothing more, nothing less. Lucky for us, we found we’ve got a guy in Baltimore who is probably thinking about how he’s going to smash one tonight.

That guy is Ryan Mountcastle and he lives to hit four-seam fastballs.

Barrel% vs Pitch (Current Season)Andrew Abbott EV on pitch to RHB
Four-Seam Fastball – 20%Four-Seam Fastball – 96 MPH

Hitting fastballs isn’t the end-all be-all of home run hitting, but it’s a great start. Guys are legit at the plate waiting for the opposing pitcher to try them with some heat. That’s basically just how hitting works.

Lucky for Ryan Mountcastle, the guy he’ll be facing tonight, Andrew Abbott, is all about that heat. So far this season, Abbott has thrown his four-seamer 49% of the time to right-handed batters. We’re talking a 96 MPH exit velocity on that same fastball. If/when he throws one to Mountcastle tonight, it’s going home with a fan. Feels easy.

Friday MLB Home Run Parlay Leg #2 -Fernando Tatis to Hit a Home Run

I almost never play a guy to hit a home run at +255 odds. There’s just no meat on that bone. In almost every instance, there’s another player in the lineup with way better odds who is a better play from a fundamental standpoint. That’s not the case tonight.

We have to play Fernando Tatis strictly out of principle, based on what he’s doing to the pitches he’s likely to see tonight.

Barrel% vs Pitch (Current Season)Ryan GustoHard Hit % on pitch to RHB
Four-Seam Fastball – 22%Four-Seam Fastball – 45%
Sweeper – 75%Sweeper – 75%

We can keep this short since Tatis is only +255. His average exit velocity this season versus right-handed pitchers is 93 MPH. That’s wild. Not only that, but he’s getting the ball in the air, which obviously helps for dingers. His best two pitches are a four-seamer and a sweeper, both of which he’s likely to see a lot of tonight. Simply put, he’s a great bet to go yard. Feels right.
