  • There are only six games on the MLB Slate for Thursday, April 10
  • Even with such a small offering, we should still get a little two-leg dinger parlay on the books
  • See below for my +3090 home run parlay for Thursday

Thursday is by far the toughest day of the week for us dinger people. MLB only gives us a handful of games but we can’t focus on what we don’t have. We need to focus on what we do have and that’s six MLB games scattered throughout the day. That means 12 teams will be in action and we only need two guys to parlay together to make it to the promised land.

That doesn’t sound all that hard. In fact, it sounds easy. Lucky for us, I already went through the slate and fished out two Circle of Trust members that I know will hit balls 100+ mph today. Feels right.

Thursday Home Run Parlay Leg #1 – Jackson Chourio to Hit a Home Run

A lot of people don’t like to take guys that hit a dinger the day before. I’m not one of those people. Seriously, it’s kind of dumb when you think about it. Why would you fade a guy for being awesome?

I mean, look at what he did to this baseball last night.

I’m a big exit velocity guy. It’s the best way I know of to predict home runs. I mean, it’s simple. If a guy is stroking baseballs at 100+ mph every time he steps to the plate, then that’s a guy I want to bet to hit it over the fence. Jackson Chourio is currently on an incredible run of 100+ mph hits. We’re talking six in the last three games.

Pitcher plays a factor in these things and Ryan Feltner feels like a good guy to target. He’s got a 9.1% barrel rate which isn’t horrible but it’s damn sure not good. Chourio has never taken him deep but there’s a first time for everything. I think that first time is Thursday.

Thursday Home Run Parlay Leg #2 – Rafael Devers to Hit a Home Run

This season has not started great for Rafael Devers. It’s actually been incredibly bad. He’s always been a high-strikeout guy, but having 19 already is concerning since he’s only played 13 games.

Still, the Red Sox don’t employ him because he doesn’t strike out. They keep him around because he hits bombs.

In dinger land, all roads lead back to exit velocity. They just do and one thing Rafael Devers is doing is hitting the ball hard. He’s got twelve 100+ mph hits on the season which is damn good for a guy that strikes out all the time. Basically, if his bat touches a ball, it leaves at 100+ mph. That’s good.

He’ll see Chris Bassitt today, who looks like a tough guy to fade on paper. He’s 1-0 with a 0.71 ERA so far on the season but we don’t care about all that. What we need to focus on is his 12% barrel rate. The guy is getting rocked when he doesn’t miss bats. My guess is Devers hits a nuke off of him today. Feels right.
