Braves’ World Series Odds Get a Boost After Winning Series Against Brewers and Cardinals

- The Atlanta Braves (30-24) sit 1.5 games back in the National League East
- 12 teams have a better run differential (+17) than the Braves
- The Boston Red Sox are listed at similar odds but may have a much easier path to winning the World Series
With a young core and undeniable talent many insiders believe the Atlanta Braves will be contenders for years to come. Is it possible that they could transition from contenders to World Series champions as early as this year?

The Braves’ World Series Odds continue to improve as they rack up win after win. They find themselves only 1.5 games back of the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL East, but for my money they still aren’t a good play. 12 other teams have a better run differential, and while I think Atlanta will remain in the hunt for a playoff spot, a World Series title isn’t in the cards for them this season.
Big comeback for the @Braves, big hit for @ozzie. #SundayNightBaseball pic.twitter.com/Rv6bhwOow3

With that said, there is still a team on this list that I think is providing incredible value and they just happen to be the defending champions.
Red Sox Rebound Has Them Back in Contention
After a horrible start the Boston Red Sox have turned things around and find themselves back in contention. They sit seven games behind the New York Yankees in the AL East but they’re currently tied for the second Wild Card spot.
The wholesome homer content you came here for. 😠pic.twitter.com/AexGfhCrNz

As the 2018 World Series Champions it’s not likely a spot the Red Sox are happy to be sitting in, but they managed to avoid complete disaster and have lots of time to turn things around.
Upcoming Schedule Should Lead to Wins
If you follow the Red Sox you will have noticed a lot of recent games against playoff-caliber teams like the Houston Astros. Well, once Boston makes it into June the road gets a whole lot easier.
Over the next two months the Red Sox play 10 games against the Toronto Blue Jays, six against the Orioles, and three each against the Tigers, White Sox, and Royals.
Over the next two months they play 10 games against the Toronto Blue Jays, nine against the fading Tampa Bay Rays, six against the Baltimore Orioles, and three each against the Detroit Tigers, Chicago White Sox, and Kansas City Royals.

That is an extremely soft schedule moving forward. Is it soft enough to make up the ground on the Yankees? Maybe not, but they do have a bunch of head-to-head games with New York as well, so it isn’t impossible to find a path where they win the division.
Look For Value When Betting Futures
It’s easy to look at the top of any futures bet list and say you like the favorite. The Houston Astros are the favorites here and they are a great team but paying only +350 it’s getting tougher and tougher to like them as the play. When you consider the Red Sox are paying +1300 they sound like the better bet, don’t they?
Pick: Boston Red Sox (+1300)
