The Boston Red Sox (53-43) continue their west coast road trip with the second game of a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers (57-41) on Saturday, July 20 at Dodger Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. ET and the game will be nationally televised on FOX.

The Dodgers opened as -134 moneyline favorites with the Red Sox at +113 underdogs. The over/under for total runs scored is set at 8.

Red Sox vs Dodgers Prediction Saturday

The Dodgers took the series opener on Friday night 4-1 behind a grand slam from Freddie Freeman in the 8th inning. It was a rare win for Los Angeles, who surprisingly are just a .500 team (24-24) since May 20 despite being 16 games over .500 at that point.

Meanwhile, the loss dropped the Red Sox to 5.5 games behind the Orioles in the AL East. However, Boston has still won 10 of their last 14 games overall and are an impressive 29-17 on the road this season.

Saturday’s pitching matchup features two young starters – Brayan Bello (10-5, 5.32 ERA) for Boston and Justin Wrobleski (0-1, 6.30 ERA) for Los Angeles.

Bello has struggled with consistency but has been much better on the road, going 6-2 with a 4.59 ERA away from Fenway Park. The 24-year-old righty is also coming off a strong outing, allowing just 3 runs over 6.1 innings in a win over the Royals.

Wrobleski, the Dodgers’ #14 prospect, will be making just his 3rd career start. The lefty has allowed four runs in each of his first two outings, lasting five innings both times. He’s also been hit hard, giving up 4 home runs already.

With Bello’s road success and Wrobleski still adjusting to the big leagues, the Red Sox should have the pitching advantage in this one. Look for their potent offense, which ranks in the top 10 in most major categories, to do damage against the rookie southpaw.

Rafael Devers Over 0.5 Home Runs (+340)

Devers leads the Red Sox with 23 HR and faces a rookie lefty in Wrobleski, who has already served up four long balls in 2 starts. At +340, this is great value on Boston’s best power hitter.

Freddie Freeman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+105)
