- The Baltimore Orioles, the No. 2 team in the American League, host the faltering Atlanta Braves Tuesday night for Game 1 of a 3-day series.
- The Braves have lost 6 of their last 10 while Baltimore has won 7 of their last 10. Atlanta dropped 3 of 4 to Washington while Baltimore just swept Tampa in 4 games.

The Baltimore Orioles are one of the hottest teams in baseball right now. Tuesday night, the Orioles will host the Atlanta Braves, who are heading in the opposite direction after a strong start to the year. Without Ronald Acuna Jr., who tore his ACL a few weeks ago, the Braves have crept closer and closer to the wrong side of .500.
But that’s not to say the Braves are dead in the water. Last time Acuna went down they won the World Series after all (with a little help from the trade deadline). Atlanta is still one of the better pitching teams in the league and has enough power to threaten the Orioles Tuesday night.

The Braves are considered to be away favorites for tonight’s contest, sitting at -1.5 runline. However, the Orioles are favorites to keep the game within a run at +1.5 (-155). Atlanta sits at -130 ML while Baltimore is +110.
As alluded to earlier, the Orioles have been the hotter team as of late. Especially so at home. The Orioles have only been the home underdog 3 times this season and are 2-1 in such games. Atlanta is 16-13 as the away favorite. The Orioles have strong records at home and on the road, but they’ve actually fared slightly better as the away team this season (22-10).
The opposite is true for Atlanta, which is 16-16 on the road.

The point spread for tonight’s game is set at O/U 8 (7.5 on DK) on Caesars, with the under favored at -120 against +100 for the over.
Baltimore is 16-13-4 against the over as a home team this season (1-1-1 as home underdog) while Atlanta is 11-16-2 as the away favorite. Given Atlanta is down an important bat, the under is certainly the more attractive option according to recent history.
Orioles vs. Braves Best Player Props (June 11)
Player Props (Atlanta vs. Baltimore) | Odds |
---|---|
Max Fried O 5.5 Ks | -145 |
Matt Olson over 1.5 Bases | +110 |
Gunnar Henderson O 1.5 Ks | +190 |
All odds above via DraftKings Sportsbook.Â
Fried is a strikeout machine and he’s seen great success against this Orioles lineup. Gunnar Henderson is 1-2 against Fried all-time, but no Oriole has seen constant results against one of the top pitchers in baseball, fresh off a 13 K performance against Boston. The Orioles are in the middle of the pack when it comes to strikeouts as a team.
Olson has never faced Suarez, but he’s seen success against the Orioles bullpen in the past. Given Suarez is unlikely to go for more than 5 or so innings, he’ll have plenty of chance to get a few hits.
Henderson is 2nd in home runs this season, but he has plenty of strikeouts to his name as well. Fried is on a heater right now and these odds are pretty strong for a guy that has been over this mark in 3 of his last 5 games.

Baltimore Orioles vs. Atlanta Braves Prediction (June 11)
Atlanta is favored tonight because of Max Fried, and I’d agree that Atlanta could end their cold streak tonight in Baltimore. But I’d stay away from the spread as this could very well be a 1-run game.
Fried and Suarez should keep the early innings of this thing very low scoring, but Suarez won’t be on the mound for very long. 7.5 is very low, but I’d still wager the under hits tonight as well given the pitching matchup alone.
BAL vs. ATL pick: ATL ML (-130), U 8 (-120)
