You don’t get much better matchups than this for prime time, as two perennial contenders in the World Series odds close out a three game set when the Astros (41-36, 19-17 away) and Dodgers (43-33, 24-14 home) meet on Sunday Night Baseball, June 25th from Dodger Stadium.
Opening pitch is at 7:10 pm ET with ESPN handling the broadcast.
Dodgers fans have displayed their lingering resentment towards the Astros in this series. In 2017, Houston defeated LA in seven games to win the World Series, but it was later revealed that the Astros were stealing signs and were disciplined afterwards. Fans have saved the loudest boos for Jose Altuve and Alex Bregman.
This all should make for an exciting climax when these squads say goodbye to each other for the foreseeable future on Sunday. Below, we dish out the Astros vs Dodgers odds as well as some player props you should consider targeting in what should be an intense contest.
Astros vs Dodgers Odds
Team | Moneyline | Runline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Houston Astros | +115 | +1.5 (-165) | O 8 (-120) |
Los Angeles Dodgers | -135 | -1.5 (+145) | U 8 (+100) |
As the home side and with one of their best arms taking to the hill, the Dodgers are -135 moneyline favorites to take the final match in this series. However, LA has struggled at home as of late, dropping six of 10 as hosts.
You couldn’t ask for a better night for baseball at Dodger Stadium with the game time temperatures expected to be around 78 degrees with a slight breeze and no chance of rain.

Houston vs Los Angeles (NL) Probable Pitchers
Pushing himself up the leaderboard in the rookie of the year odds, Hunter Brown is looking to put his worst outing of the year behind him when he takes the hill in prime time against the Dodgers. He got roughed up for six runs in his last start against the Mets.
At just 24-years old, the righty has given the Astros another dependable starter in their rotation with tons of upside. His live arm allows him to escape jams, as he ranks top 20 amongst qualified pitchers in strikeouts per nine innings and is just 10 K’s away from hitting the century mark before the season hits the halfway point.
Brown vs Gonsolin Stats
6-4 | Record | 4-2 |
3.78 | ERA | 2.92 |
1.22 | WHIP | 1.01 |
.237 | OBA | .168 |
3.2 | SO/W Ratio | 2.1 |
Forced to sit out the start of the season with a left ankle sprain, Tony Gonsolin picked up where he left off last year before getting rocked by the Giants for seven runs in his last outing.
Almost impossible to replicate an outstanding 2022 campaign that saw him post unreal numbers including a 16-1 mark and 2.14 ERA, Goose blazed out to a 4-1 mark with a 1.93 ERA in his first nine starts this year. We’ll call his last appearance against San Francisco, an aberration, as that’s the most runs he’s given up in 62 career starts.
Astros vs Dodgers Player Prop Picks
Sitting top five in all of baseball in batting average, Freddie Freeman has gone hitless so far in this series. You have to go back to April to find the last time the Dodgers first basemen went three straight games without a hit. Count on Freeman to wake up in the series finale and get over 1.5 base hits.

No MLB lineups are hated by a fan base quite as much as the Astros are by Dodgers fans, particularly Altuve and Bregman, two key holdovers from the 2017 World Series. While both players struggled with the hate on Friday, combining to go 0-for-6, they combined for five hits and five RBI’s in Saturday’s game.
Bregman has turned a corner of late, going 10 for his last 24 with two homers, two doubles and a triple in his last six games. Amped up to respond to the boos with his bat, take the man at the hot corner to notch over 1.5 total bases.
Astros vs Dodgers Predictions
Nothing would be sweeter for the Dodgers faithful than having their squad break out the brooms on Sunday. They’ve definitely got the right man on the hill to finish the job off, as Gonsolin has only taken a losing decision three times in the last two seasons.

Missing the powerful bat of Yordan Alvarez in the middle of the lineup, the Astros have struggled, putting up a 5-9 straight up record in the MLB odds since the big man went out of the lineup with an oblique injury.
They could definitely use him against the surgical Gonsolin, but without him and after throwing away an 8th inning lead and losing Saturday, the Astros are ripe for the picking. Our prediction is that the Dodgers sweep them away on Sunday Night Baseball.
Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers Moneyline (-135)
