- Tiger Woods’ odds of winning the 2019 Masters have worsened in the eyes of oddsmakers
- Since victory at the 2018 Tour Championship Woods has been inconsistent
- Who is the best bet to slip into a green jacket on April 14th?
Coming off his first PGA Tour title in five years at the 2018 Tour Championship, Tiger Woods was flying high and his 2019 Masters Odds listed him as the favorite to slip into his fifth career green jacket.
Tiger’s odds were all the way down to an average +1000 across our trusted sportsbooks through late February, but they’ve now risen to +1400. Is now the time to bet on Woods, or should you save your cash for somebody else?

Tiger Woods Hasn’t Had His “A” Game in 2019
It’s not as if Tiger Woods has been bad in 2019 – but expectations were sky high after a phenomenal victory at the 2018 Tour Championship and coming so close at both the Open Championship and PGA Championship.

Fast forward to 2019, and in his most recent event, the Big Cat is coming off a disappointing quarterfinals loss at last week’s WGC-Dell Match Play.

As shocking and frustrating as that was, it actually resulted in his best finish of the season (tie for fifth), so his odds moving from +1200 to +1400 following that defeat is mildly surprising.

Should You Bet on Tiger to Win the 2019 Masters?
As tempting as it is to relive past Masters triumphs by Tiger and hope he can do it again, the smart money should be placed elsewhere. He’s been good – not great – this season, and hasn’t won at Augusta since all the way back in 2005.

Still, it’s so tempting to bet on him because he’s Tiger freakin’ Woods! If you are inclined to do so, his stats this season actually have been quite impressive when you put it all together. The only slightly worrying aspect is his at times balky putter.

The Best Bets to Win 2019 Masters
Even though he’s the favorite leaving his odds at a paltry +750, Rory McIlroy has to be wagered on.
Two other players that present much better value are the struggling Jordan Spieth at +2200 (but he has four top-3 finishes in five Masters appearances), and none other than the surprising under-the-radar selection of Jason Day at +2800 (second and third place showings in his Masters career.)
