One week after the only official PGA Tour team event saw Andrew Novak and Ben Griffin pick up their first titles at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans, the schedule is back to individual golf. Scottie Scheffler, a native Texan, is playing this tournament and he’s a huge favorite to add to his trophy case for the first time in 2025. Most of the big names have opted not to compete, but the world #1 will be fighting for the victory in what is always a birdie fest at TPC Craig Ranch. The four times this tournament has been contested at this track, the winner has been at least 23-under-par.
The CJ Cup Byron Nelson Odds 2025
It’s no surprise that Scottie Scheffler is the +250 favorite, given that he’s the only humongous name competing and he’s the top player on the planet. However, he has yet to taste victory in eight starts this year. It’s not like he’s been poor, with a worst showing of T-25 in those events. Fellow Texan Jordan Spieth and Sungjae Im are the second choices to grab the trophy, followed by defending champion Taylor Pendrith and Byeong Hun An.

Keith Mitchell Due for Second PGA Tour Victory
Keith Mitchell won the 2019 Honda Classic, which to date is his lone time lifting a trophy on the PGA Tour. He’s had countless other opportunities, and always gets out to strong starts, leading after 18 holes multiple times in 2025. His last individual tournament was the closest he’s come on the campaign, finishing tied for second at the Corales Puntacana Championship.
Past Five CJ Cup Byron Nelson Winners
*There was no 2020 tournament due to COVID-19.
The last 24 rounds, “Cashmere Keith”, as he’s affectionately known, is fourth in ball striking and tenth in total strokes gained among those teeing it up at this event. In nearly half (8) of his last 17 tourneys, he’s been inside the top-25. At +3000 to win outright, he sports odds longer than the top-five players on the board. He’s a top-20 player in birdie average, which he’ll need to chase down his second title this week.
The CJ Cup Byron Nelson 2025 Picks & Value Bets
- Will Zalatoris +4500: While he hasn’t exactly been firing on all cylinders, Will Zalatoris presents very optimal value at +4500 to win outright, particularly since only one gargantuan name is competing (Scottie Scheffler). If Zalatoris was in finer form, he’d likely be the second or third favorite to claim the trophy. It’s not as if he’s been playing poorly though, with a trio of top-25’s on the campaign. This numbers feel like it will drop a little bit as the wagers start coming in for this tournament.
- Jake Knapp +6000: Last year, Jake Knapp held the 54-hole lead at this tournament, before a disappointing final round saw him wind up in eighth spot. This past Sunday, he nearly won his second tour event, as he was tied for the lead with partner Frankie Capan III with just two holes to go. They eventually wound up in third place, Knapp’s sixth top-30 in his last eight times teeing it up.
- Cam Davis +10000: Two-time champ on the main circuit Cam Davis is far more talented than this number suggests. He’s fourth in birdie average this season, something paramount to success at this track, where 23-under-par or better has been the winning score the four times TPC Craig Ranch has been the venue. He had a solid start to 2025, then wobbled with five straight missed cuts, but shook that off with a top-15 two weeks ago at the RBC Heritage.
- Sami Valimaki +11000: The big Finn was runner-up at the 2024 Mexico Open, his best PGA Tour finish, and his last three events have given a glimmer of hope that he might pick up that maiden victory. He was fourth at the Houston Open, then followed that up with T-12 and a T-18 results. In the last twelve rounds on tour, Valimaki is first in strokes gained: approach, second in total strokes gained, and third in ball striking, making this an intriguing longshot bet.
