Russell Henley has been in complete control throughout the Wyndham Championship, leading outright all three rounds. The three-time PGA Tour champion shot a scintillating 8-under, 62 on Thursday to grab ahold of top spot, then followed that up with a strong 64 on Friday.
He proved he was mortal on moving day in Greensboro, North Carolina, as he posted a 1-under, 69 to grab a three shot edge, and he’s four up on a host of players.
Coming into the week, there were seven golfers favored more highly than him to claim the final regular season event on the calendar. His +3000 value as a sleeper was intriguing enough to have him on our radar from the onset.
Should he stumble, there are a host of other golfers ready to pounce, with proven winners lurking like Webb Simpson, Adam Scott, Branden Grace, Kevin Kisner and Kevin Na.
Read on to see the updated odds and the best bets heading into Sunday’s final round.

Henley Attempts To Break Curse
Should Russell Henley get back into the winner’s circle Sunday for the first time since the 2017 Houston Open, he will have broken two curses – one of his own doing, and the other a bugaboo that the entire PGA Tour has not been able to shake since the PGA Championship in May.
Earlier this season, Henley held an identical three-shot edge after 54 holes at the CJ Cup, only to falter in the final round en route to a T-3 finish. He also co-led the US Open back in June through three days, only to suffer yet another bitter defeat. If he’s not able to get the job done in the final round, he’ll hardly be alone.
12 straight PGA Tour events have been won by a player trailing entering the final round. The last 54-hole leader or co-leader to win was Phil Mickelson at the PGA Championship.

Will he be able to break the curse in the 13th attempt, just two days after Friday the 13th? In his last five final rounds, he’s shot 72 or higher on four occasions, including a 76 at the US Open that dropped him down to T-13th.
He’s clearly more than capable of winning: however, considering his history and recent trends on the PGA Tour, someone shooting a blistering final round from back in the pack might be the better option, since he’s at -125 to win.
2021 Wynham Championship Best Live Value Picks
- Kevin Na (+1200): Heading into the tournament, we were high on Kevin Na because of his past success at this track, plus he was T-2nd just two starts ago. After failing to convert several chances to win earlier in his career, he’s picked off four titles since 2018, including this year’s Sony Open. He’s second in strokes gained tee-to-green through three days and he’s made at least four birdies in each round.
- Kevin Kisner (+1200): Like Kevin Na, we also were high on Kevin Kisner this week with his +5500 price tag. He was T-3rd here last year and had a pair of other top-10’s at this venue in 2014 and 2016. Tied first in greens in regulation through 54 holes and he’s eighth in strokes gained approaching the green. That’s resulted in him racking up 17 birdies, T-4th most heading into the final round.
