- Is Team Secret a shoo-in to win it all at ESL One Katowice 2019?
- Gambit is making a case for a finals appearance
- We have the top value pick for ESL One Katowice 2019
ESL One Katowice 2019 starts February 22nd, and features teams that were directly invited as well as teams that had to qualify. Team Secret leads the way in the odds to win outright in Katowice, but there are other teams that can certainly challenge them for the trophy.

Secret Rightfully the Favorite?
Team Secret head into ESL One Katowice 2019 as probably the second best team in the world behind only Virtus Pro. The European mix squad had a pretty good 2018 season, winning four major tournaments, and placing 5-6th at The International.
After making some changes late in the year, adding Zai and Nisha, the team placed out of the top four only once the rest of the year. Currently they are in the Chongqing Major and have made it to the semifinals of the upper bracket.

Liquid is one of the better teams in Dota, and Team Secret made quick work hitting them with the 2-0. The side of Secret looks dominant, certainly a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season. Though I think they will win out at ESL One Katowice 2019, there may be value in looking at a few other teams to do so.
The Other Guys
The other team that I think can challenge for the title in Katowice is Gambit. They head into the event as the qualifying team from the EU Region, and have been on quite a roll so far in 2019.
They placed second at the Bucharest Minor, and have won over a number of good teams early in the season. Gambit head into Katowice with +500 odds to take it all, and given how they have performed so far this year, it may be worth throwing a bit of money on them to take the title.
Value Pick to Win
If you’re looking for an outside pick to come out on top at ESL One Katowice, I would say the only option is OG. The Europeans managed to pull off the craziest Cinderella story run on their way to winning TI8 in 2018.

OG has the talent to make a run at any tournament, and certainly they have the composure. After seeing what OG was able to do at The International, I find it hard to not at least consider them to win any event they take place in. At +1000 odds they may be worth putting a few bucks on to win in Katowice.
Pick: Secret (+200)

Who Will Join Secret in the Finals?
I would put Team Secret as a lock to reach the finals at ESL One Katowice, so the question is, who will be the other team playing in the big show come Sunday? The teams that I would pick to reach the finals alongside Team Secret are Gambit, Fnatic, and OG.
You can’t count OG out of any tournament after what they were able to pull off at TI8. They proved they have ice in their veins on the biggest of stages.
As I said before for OG, you can’t count them out of any tournament after what they were able to pull off at TI8. They proved they have ice in their veins on the biggest of stages, and I will never doubt they are able to pull it off again.
Gambit and Fnatic, on the other hand, are both teams that performed solidly in the latter half of 2018. Both teams have the ability to play with the best teams in the world, it will just depend on how the bracket will unfold.
Picks: Secret (-200), Gambit (+500)
