The 2020 League of Legends World Championship only has one best-of-five remaining. The final between Suning and DAMWON Gaming will signal the end of the 2020 LoL season. Just like they have been all tournament long, DAMWON is favored to win the finals over Suning in the LoL World Championship odds. That opens up some great value amongst the wide array of available prop bets.
Map 1 Prop Odds

Differing Playstyles
As strong as both teams have looked throughout Worlds, it’s worth noting that Suning has been a little slow out of the gate. They dropped the opening game of the quarterfinals to JD Gaming and won a close game 1 over Top Esports in the semis. Meanwhile, DAMWON has come out firing and picked up a 1-0 lead against both G2 and DragonX.
Based on recent performance, DAMWON is more likely to win game one and, that bodes well for a lot of their map one prop bets. Even if you believe that DAMWON will win game one, the two teams have very different playstyles and, they prioritize different objectives.

Although DAMWON has only dropped two games all tournament, they’ve only gotten first blood in five out of 13 games. Rather than go after kills early, they generally put more value on map objectives. On the other hand, Suning has gotten the first kill in eleven of their fifteen games. Regardless of who you think wins game one, Suning is a great bet at -106 to pick up first blood.
While Suning hunts early game kills, DAMWON puts a lot of priority on the Rift Herald. They’ve slain an average of 1.69 Heralds per game and often use it to take down early tower plates. That’s easily the highest average of all teams in the tournament. So, even at -167, there’s still value considering how consistently DAMWON goes after the Herald.
In comparison, Suning averages less than one Herald killed per game. They’ve had a lot of success despite their Herald numbers so it’s just not an important part of their gameplan.
Picks: First Herald – DAMWON (-167) & First Blood – Suning (-106)
Correct Map Score Odds
Score | Odds |
---|---|
DAMWON 3-0 | +250 |
DAMWON 3-1 | +225 |
DAMWON 3-2 | +325 |
Suning 3-0 | +750 |
Suning 3-1 | +600 |
Suning 3-2 | +500 |
DAMWON in Five Games
As shown in the LoL World Championship Finals preview, I’m expecting DAMWON to win the Summoner’s Cup. They’ve only dropped two games all tournament long and they dismantled G2 in the semifinals. The argument for Suning is that they’ve faced a tougher road. Most notably, they defeated one of the tournament favorites in Top Esports and did so without even going to game 5.

Even though the map score odds clearly favor DAMWON, I don’t think Suning is being given enough respect. An upset isn’t out of the realm of possibility as Chinese teams have won the past two World Championships. As tempted as I am to go with Suning 3-2, I’d still go with DAMWON to win the finals. However, I’d try to get as much value out of it as possible by taking DAMWON in five.
Pick: DAMWON 3-2 (+325)
