WWE TLC 2020 Odds, Preview, and Predictions

Following an incredibly newsworthy 2020, WWE aims to end the year on a high note with Sunday’s TLC pay-per-view, emanating live from the WWE ThunderDome in Tampa, FL.

Over the last decade, the event has typically hosted a Tables match, a Ladder match, and a Chairs match, along with one or two TLC matches for the top titles. That won’t be the case this year as only two TLC matches have been announced. Not to mention, a Firefly Inferno match between The Fiend and Randy Orton.

More matches are expected to be added to the card in the days to come, but only five are available to be bet on as of now. Ahead of TLC, let’s take a look at the favorites that will emerge victorious in each advertised bout according to the current betting odds.

Wyatt vs Orton

There can be little doubt that The Fiend and Alexa Bliss have been among the best parts of Raw since moving over to the red brand in October’s WWE Draft. They’ll settle their score on Sunday in what is being billed as a Firefly Inferno match.

The added stipulation should make the match more bearable than it would have been without it. Regardless of whether it delivers inside the ring or not, The Fiend winning should be a slam-dunk as Orton gains nothing from a victory.

Raw Tag Team Championship

The New Day and The Hurt Business have traded victories over the last month on Raw. However, both times they collided for the Raw Tag Team Championship, New Day reigned supreme. This will presumably be the final opportunity Hurt Business gets at the gold, so they’re almost guaranteed to go over at TLC.

The two teams are relatively close in the odds with Hurt Business at -225 and New Day at +200. While it could go either way, Hurt Business becoming the new Raw Tag Team champions would be the better outcome.

SmackDown Women’s Championship

WWE went ahead and booked this bout early on the December 11 edition of SmackDown with the SmackDown Women’s Championship on the line. Although Carmella won by disqualification, Banks retained her title and the rematch is set to take place at the pay-per-view.

The Boss hasn’t been able to hold onto titles for very long in the past, but this current reign of hers should be different. At -550, Banks is heavily favored over Carmella, and rightfully so.

WWE Championship TLC Match

Drew McIntyre vs AJ Styles at TLC will mark the first time they’ve ever gone one-on-one in any company. However, a majority of the build has been focused on McIntyre’s storyline with Sheamus, which is expected to culminate either at Royal Rumble or at WrestleMania.

With that said, it’s all but set in stone that McIntyre will beat Styles on Sunday and enter 2021 still the WWE champion. There’s no reason to bet against McIntyre unless WWE plans on ending his second title run soon after it started.

Universal Championship TLC Match

Roman Reigns has arguably been doing the best work of his career over these past four months as The Tribal Chief. Moreover, he has been booked dominantly as the Universal champion. Kevin Owens, as credible as he is, doesn’t pose much of a threat to the title at TLC. He is essentially a filler opponent for Reigns before he moves on to Daniel Bryan.

Reigns being favored at -2000 should come as no surprise to anyone who has witnessed his rise in the latter half of 2020. Owens could conceivably steal the win and lose the belt right back to Reigns at the onset of the new year, but it’d be much smarter for him to hold onto it through WrestleMania, even if it means obliterating The Prizefighter with tables, ladders, and chairs when they face off this weekend.
