- The season premiere of Married at First Sight aired on January 1, 2020
- This round of couples marks the tenth season of the hit reality series
- For the first time, five different couples will face the test of time to see if ‘the experiment’ of social science will keep them together
For the tenth time since its 2014 debut, American strangers will be paired up and immediately tie the knot in reality television’s Married at First Sight.
When willing participants let love experts match them up with a potential mate, it makes for great television. Sometimes the love experts’ magic pairs people up with their dream partner, other times it just isn’t a good fit at all.
This season, the amount of couples increases to five. Though they have no idea who they’ll be matched with, they’ll marry immediately without question. But will the couples remain married once they reach the six-month special? How many couples will land the test of time?
So far, the first nine seasons have seen the potential of 29 couples that were initially matched. Of them, only 19 chose to stay married at the end of their seasons, and only eight of those remain married to this day. With such a turbulent success rate, how will the season ten couples fare?
How Many Couples From Married at First Sight Will Be Married at the Six Month Special?
Odd | Odds |
---|---|
Over 1 Total Married at First Sight Couples | -120 |
Under 1 Total Married at First Sight Couples | -120 |
All odds taken January 6
With more couples included in this season than any season before, there are five total chances for success with the season ten cast.

With a higher amount of chances for success, we also see couples that have been more carefully chosen. The love experts will likely have done a good enough job to at least have one success story.
Pick: Over 1 Total Married at First Sight Couples (-120)
How Many Married at First Sight Couples Will Stay Married at End of Show?
Odd | Odds |
---|---|
Over 2 1/2 Total Married at First Sight Couples | -120 |
Under 2 1/2 Total Married at First Sight Couples | -120 |
Once the show rolls to a close, the fates of each couple will be revealed. Will they stick it out or run for the hills?
This season, the couples seem to be well paired more than they have in other seasons. Internet chatter and odds are showing favor for the majority of the couples to last to the season finale. Early season episodes show the couples having more fun than previous season contestants. Here’s hoping they can keep that charisma alive.
Pick: Over 2 1/2 Total

Odds on Which Couples Will Stay Together at End of Married at First Sight
Character | Yes | No |
---|---|---|
Austin and Jessica | -120 | -120 |
Brandon and Taylor | -150 | +110 |
Derek and Katie | +300 | -500 |
Michael and Meka | -200 | +150 |
Zach and Mindy | +170 | -250 |
Austin and Jessica
Austin and Jessica seem like the type of couple willing to make things work based exclusively on their respective families’ legacies. Both individuals’ families have impressive strength to their credit. Jessica’s parents have been together for over 35 years while Austin’s parents have also instilled the importance of togetherness.
Pick: Yes (-120)

Brandon and Taylor
Taylor is on the rebound from a long-term relationship that left her rather scarred. Brandon is gunning for a relationship to work, though. Given Taylor’s past, it seems she’d be willing to give in to the moment and stay in a relationship so long as the person makes it worth her while. Brandon offers a seven-year-older perspective to Taylor, which could add to the allure.
Pick: Yes (-150)

Derek and Katie
Collectively, Derek and Katie are the youngest couple in this cast. They’re both in their mid-20s. Are they really ready to settle down? Probably not. They live states apart too, with Katie reigning from Virginia and Derek from Maryland. Their career paths are also worlds away– Katie is in mental health and Derek is an engineer. Without much common ground, their pairing is confusing to viewers.
Pick: No (-500)
Michael and Meka
Meka’s relationship past has left her underwhelmed, so she’s pretty keen to cling onto a chance of hope. Perhaps Married at First Sight could defy its odds for her and land her a winner. That winner may just be here in the form of Michael, a man who has gone from young orphan into a sturdy success story. Michael’s tragic past gives him a reason to cling for hope, too.
Pick: Yes (-200)

Zach and Mindy
Sometimes, pairing individuals who are too similar isn’t the best call either, though. Mindy and Zach are close in age and both work in fitness coaching. The similarities, especially in the health and athletics sectors, could make them too competitive and get on each other’s nerves quite easily.
Pick: No (-250)
