  • My college football picks today cover Saturday’s Week 6 slate
  • The card combines spread bets and a game total
  • See the third-down, red-zone and turnover edges behind my CFB picks

My college football picks today focus on three Week 6 matchups for Saturday, October 10: Texas vs Oklahoma, Indiana vs Nebraska and UCLA vs Oregon. I’m using offensive efficiency and turnover numbers to separate the betting cases.

The card combines two spread selections on Kalshi with a total at BetMGM. Below, I break down the college football odds and the statistical matchup behind each best bet.

College Football Picks Today

MatchupBest BetPrice & Source
Texas vs. OklahomaTexas -7.549¢ at Kalshi
Indiana vs. NebraskaOver 48.5-105 at BetMGM
UCLA vs. OregonUCLA +10.551¢ at Kalshi

Prices as of Oct. 9. Kalshi contracts pay $1 if the selected outcome wins, before fees; 49¢ represents a 49% break-even probability before fees. American equivalents are approximate. BetMGM’s -105 means risking $105 to profit $100.

College Football Picks Today #1: Texas -7.5

Kalshi
Texas -7.5
49%

My Texas vs Oklahoma prediction backs the top-ranked Longhorns (4-0) to cover in the neutral-site Red River Rivalry in Dallas. Texas brings a highly efficient attack to the Red River Rivalry, averaging 33.2 points per game while converting an elite 50.0% of their third downs. Their pocket presence and methodical drives consistently keep opposing defenses on their heels.

Meantime, Oklahoma’s offense has struggled mightily to establish any rhythm. The Sooners are posting just 22.0 points per contest while converting a dismal 34.0% on third down. Worse yet, they have been incredibly turnover-prone, committing 10 total giveaways for a concerning -6 turnover differential.

Among Texas prediction markets, Texas to cover this margin is trading at 49¢ on Kalshi. That translates to approximately +104 in traditional American odds, presenting solid value. Texas has the offensive firepower to cover the 7.5-point spread, while Oklahoma’s inability to sustain drives or win the field position battle could leave them chasing the game.

College Football Picks Today #2: Indiana vs. Nebraska Over 48.5

  • Indiana vs Nebraska Over 48.5 (-105 on BetMGM)

My Indiana vs Nebraska pick is Over 48.5 as the unbeaten, No. 7 Hoosiers (5-0) visit a Cornhuskers team receiving poll votes. This clash features two productive offenses, making the total of 48.5 highly appealing at BetMGM.

Indiana averages 43.8 points and 489.6 total yards per game, slightly edging Nebraska’s impressive 43.6 points and 475.6 yards. Both offensive units are exceptional at extending drives, with third-down conversion rates sitting comfortably above the 51% mark. They don’t just move the chains; they consistently finish.

Now, factor in their red zone efficiency. Nebraska is virtually automatic inside the 20-yard line, scoring at a 95.5% clip, while Indiana converts at a staggering 91.3%. Those scoring rates support the Over, although they measure all red-zone scores rather than touchdowns alone. I expect enough sustained possessions to clear 48.5 without needing either team to match its season scoring average.

College Football Picks Today #3: UCLA +10.5

Prediction Markets
UCLA +10.5 vs Oregon

Kalshi
UCLA +10.5
51%

My UCLA vs Oregon prediction takes the points with the unbeaten No. 21 Bruins against the No. 13 Ducks. A double-digit cushion leaves room for Oregon to win a competitive game while UCLA covers. The Ducks boast an elite scoring unit, averaging 47.5 points per game with a flawless 100.0% red zone efficiency.

However, UCLA has the ground-and-pound consistency to keep this matchup well within the number. The Bruins average 44.8 points per game, convert 48.9% of their third downs, and boast an outstanding +7 turnover differential. They possess the exact formula needed to spring an upset: they control the clock, convert key downs, and severely limit crucial mistakes.

You can grab the Bruins to cover the 10.5-point spread for 51¢ on Kalshi (approximately -104 American odds). If you haven’t traded there yet, be sure to grab a Kalshi promo code to maximize your entry. Because UCLA dictates the pace so effectively, taking the points is my preferred angle for this West Coast battle.
