The biggest spread on the board so far is LSU laying 23.5 points at home to UCLA. One game – Baylor vs Colorado – is a virtual pick’em, with the Bears at -114 on the moneyline and the Buffs ever-so-slight -105 home underdogs.

In a bit of a rarity for college football, only two of the 25 game totals on the board so far are over 60: South Alabama vs App State, the first game of the week on Thursday, has the highest total at 62.5, while Arizona State vs Texas Tech is at 60.5.
The national championship odds continue to favor Georgia (+280), Ohio State (+400), and Texas (+750), who have all survived the early weeks unscathed.
Meanwhile, Miami QB Cam Ward has taken over as the betting favorite in the 2024 Heisman odds.
Early NCAAF Week 4 Picks
- Pick #1: Cal moneyline vs Florida State (+132)
I have faded the Seminoles each of the last two weeks and will continue to do so until they so something, literally anything, on the field. They have been outclassed in their three losses to Georgia Tech (24-21 neutral), Boston College (28-13 home), and Memphis (20-12 home). DJ Uiagalelei bears no resemblance to a competent starting QB.

Cal, meanwhile, is 3-0 including a 21-14 road win at Auburn as 11.5-point road underdogs. Auburn is a much better football team than FSU.
I don’t expect the Seminoles to go winless but I still love the value on Cal at +132.
- Pick #2: Arizona State moneyline (+118) vs Texas Tech
My second pick this week is another SU upset: Arizona State to win on the road in Lubbock against Texas Tech as +118 underdogs.
The Red Raiders have had an ugly start to the season. In Week 1, they needed OT to get by Abilene Christian (52-51), a team that sits 55th in the FCS power rankings. Week 2 brought a decisive 37-16 loss at Washington State. They finally put in a good performance in Week 3, routing North Texas 66-21 as 11-point home favorites.

In Week 4, they get a stiff test from Arizona State, which is 3-0 both SU and ATS. The Sun Devils just went on the road and beat a solid Texas State team (31-28) that has designs on winning the Sun Belt. Red shirt freshman Sam Leavitt, a Michigan State transfer, is providing stability at the QB position that ASU hasn’t had since the Jayden Daniels days.
