College Football Picks Today: Best Bets for Nov. 2

• College Football is back with another action-packed slate Saturday, November 2, 2024
• There are a million great games, but two have caught my eye, and both need to be slammed

Saturdays in the fall were made for one thing: College Football. There is literally nothing I’d rather do than follow college football scores all day long on a Saturday. It just feels right.

The only issue is, it’s tough to stay up with all the games. There are literally a million programs out there, all battling it out trying to cover for their backers. It’s beautiful when you think about it. Even when you don’t think about it.

Lucky for us, I mapped out our Saturday. We’re starting at noon with the Air Force/Army game. When they wrap up, we’ll throw down on the Navy/Rice matchup. We’re looking at a service academy Saturday here people.

This could easily be the greatest Saturday of our lives.

Army Might Be A Wagon

We’re starting right at noon today and whenever we do that, we need to be sure we’re backing a wagon. We need a team that might literally demolish their opponent. After all, it’s the beginning of the slate. We need dominance.

I know we can’t judge a book by it’s cover, but this Army team looks like they’re ready to slaughter someone.

Here’s the thing about this Army team, they don’t just look the part. They actually wax people. Go through their game logs. they’ve hung a 40-burger on each of the last four teams they’ve played. It’s personal out there.

The thing that makes this really interesting is the fact that Army could actually be playoff-bound if they keep winning. It’s not that crazy to think that. The only thing is, they’ll need to keep the style points coming. While we could just take them to cover 22+, I think the smart way to do this is to take them to hang 35+ on these Falcons. Feels right.

We Can’t Give Up On Navy Now

I know we took Navy last week to score at least 20 points and they let us down. They played a very tough Notre Dame defense and could only muster 14 points. Lucky for us, this week they will take on the Rice Owls.

The question we have to ask ourselves is, how the hell is Rice going to stop stuff like this?

Anyone who has ever been to middle school knows, any time you get your ass kicked the way Navy did last week, you only have one move. Find someone smaller than you and beat them down. It’s the Circle of Life. Watch The Lion King. It’s all in there.

This one will be about how Rice can stop the run. Simply put, they can’t. I get that they are 69th in the country in opponent yards per rush attempt, but they haven’t played anyone. When they did play a decent team like Army, the Black Knights ran for almost 300 yards. Expect more of the same Saturday afternoon. Feels right.
