A date with #4 Arizona State is on the line Saturday as Clemson faces Texas in Round 1 of the College Football Playoff. Texas went 11-2 on the season and only lost to Georgia: first in the regular season, and then again in the SEC Championship. The Longhorns have been near the top of the rankings all season and everyone expected them to reach the CFP bracket. Clemson, on the other hand, was a surprise.
The Tigers lost to Georgia in their season opener and had an uphill battle the rest of the way. Clemson finished the regular season with a 9-3 record and needed a win over SMU in the ACC Championship to get here.
Texas is a large, 12.5-point favorite over Clemson, so if you do not want to bet on the spread, there is plenty of value that can be found in the college football player props market. Keep reading for the latest Clemson vs Texas player props, plus my best bets.

Clemson vs Texas Prop #1: Cade Klubnik Over 23.5 Rushing Yards
Cade Klubnik has had a great season through the air, but he has also been effective on the ground. Texas has a very strong defense, but Klubnik’s rushing prop seems low in this game. Klubnik rushed for just 21 yards against SMU in the ACC Championship, but he still had 14 carries which is promising usage for a prop of 23.5 yards. Klubnik rushed for over 24 yards in ten straight games before the SMU game and averaged 44.9 rushing yards a game during that span.
Running back Phil Mafah will play in this game, but he has an injured shoulder that will require surgery after the season. He will still get his carries, but the injury should lead to more rushing attempts for Klubnik. Klubnik has been able to break some long runs this season, so we may be able to cash this after one run.

Texas’s rush defense offers some concern, but we have seen some mobile quarterbacks such as Marcell Reed and Diego Pavia have some success on the ground vs them. It’s a low number, so I believe Klubnik can get at least 24 rushing yards in this game.
- Pick: Cade Klubnik Over 23.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Clemson vs Texas Prop #2: Jaydon Blue Over 25.5 Rushing Yards
The latest college football odds have Texas as a 12.5-point favorite over Clemson, so they should be in for a positive game script. Texas is supposed to win this game by multiple scores, so they will likely run the ball often. Both Texas running backs could be in for a big game, so I am going to opt for Jaydon Blue’s prop as it is much less than Quintrevion Wisner’s.
The difference between both props is understandable. Blue’s role has diminished over the past two games due to a shoulder injury and some fumble issues. Before that though, Blue rushed for 47, 60, 83, and 96 yards in his last four. Texas had a week off, so Blue has had a chance to get healthier, and I believe he will be back in the mix.
Clemson’s defense has been good this season, but they have struggled against the run. The Tigers were 14th in the ACC in rushing defense allowing over 150 yards per game. I like Blue to get at least 26 rushing yards in a positive game script.
- Pick: Jaydon Blue Over 25.5 Rushing Yards (-115)
Clemson vs Texas Touchdown Props

Quintrevion Wisner (TEX) | +333 | -250 |
Phil Mafah (CLEM) | +750 | +105 |
Gunnar Helm (TEX) | +750 | +100 |
Jaydon Blue (TEX) | +750 | +100 |
Matthew Golden (TEX) | +1000 | +137 |
Antonio Williams (CLEM) | +1400 | +210 |
Cade Klubnik (CLEM) | +1400 | +187 |
Clemson vs Texas Prop #3: Antonio Williams Anytime Touchdown
Clemson is expected to be losing in this game, and even though the Tigers want to run the ball, they will likely need to lean on their leading receiver. Antonio Williams failed to get in the endzone in his last two games, but before that, he scored in three of his last four. In two of those games, he scored two touchdowns.
In his last six games, Williams is averaging just under 10 targets. At +210 odds, Clemson’s WR1 offers some great value to get into the endzone, even against Texas’s defense.
- Pick: Antonio Williams Anytime Touchdown (+210)
