Timeline of Conference-Tournament Updates
- Mar. 12 (AAC): Memphis upset No. 1 Houston in the AAC title game as five-point underdogs. The Tigers were safely in the field as an at-large, but will move up at least one seed line after taking down the top team in the country.
- Mar. 12 (Ivy): Princeton stunned top-seed Yale in the Ivy League title game (74-65), earning their first NCAA Tournament bid since 2017.
- Mar. 8 (Patriot): Colgate came through as the Patriot League chalk, routing Lafayette 79-61 in the title game.
- Mar. 7 (WCC): Gonzaga absolutely hammered Saint Mary’s (77-51) in the WCC title game.
- Mar. 7 (Northeast): Merrimack won the Northeast Conference, but because the Warriors are ineligible (recently transitioned to DI), runner-up Fairleigh Dickinson receives the auto-bid from the conference.
- Mar. 6 (Southern): Furman handled Chattanooga 87-79 in the Southern Conference title game to earn its first NCAA Tournament bid since 1980.
- Mar. 5 (ASUN): An early hit to teams on the bubble; Kennesaw State upset Liberty in the ASUN title game. Ranked 40th in the NET, Liberty (23-8) has an excellent chance to still qualify for March Madness as an at-large team.
- Mar. 5 (MVC): Drake lit up Bradley in the MVC final (77-55) and will make it’s second NCAA Tournament appearance in the last three years (but also just its second since 2008). Ranked 60th in the NET, Bradley has a very slim chance at an at-large berth.
- Mar. 5 (Big South): UNC Asheville downed Campbell in the Big South title game (77-73) to earn its first March Madness bid since 2016.
- Mar. 4 (OVC): Southeast Missouri State is the first team officially in the 2023 NCAA Tournament, beating Tennessee Tech 89-82 in the final of the OVC championship game.
- Feb. 27: The first conference tournament tipped off today, but the first championship game will not be played until Saturday, March 4 (Ohio Valley Conference).
