Just two other teams have reached the Final Four with unblemished records since the tournament expanded to 64 teams in 1985. However, UNLV lost in the 1991 semifinals and Kentucky met the same fate in 2015.
Gonzaga looked invincible again against USC, though. The Bulldogs led 25-8 by the 8:30 mark of the first half and cruised to victory.
Drew Timme had a game-high 23 points to lead the way. Jared Suggs flirted with a triple-double before winding up with 18 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists.
Gonzaga has won 29 of its 30 games by double digits this season. The Bulldogs have captured their four tournament games by a combined 96 points, also rolling over Norfolk State, Oklahoma, and Creighton.
Baylor Breaks Through
Baylor has reached the Final Four under coach Scott Drew after falling short in the regional finals in 2010 and 2012.
The Bears have won eight of their last nine games. They dispatched Arkansas 81-72 on Monday in the South Region final as a 7.5-point favorite.

Baylor raced to an 18-point lead in the first half. Arkansas eventually got the deficit down to four before the Bears pulled away again and reached the Final Four for the first time since 1950.
MaCio Teague led Baylor with 22 points. Reserve Adam Flagler had four steals to spearhead the Bears’ defense, which forced 15 turnovers.
Baylor has won their four games in the tourney by an average of 14.3 points. It has also downed Hartford, Wisconsin and Villanova.
Houston Is Rolling
Houston carries an 11-game winning streak into its Final Four since 1984, though its road to getting to this point has been relatively smooth.
The Cougars are the first team to play four double-digit seats to win a regional. They defeated #15 Cleveland State, #10 Rutgers, #11 Syracuse and #12 Oregon State.

Houston downed the Beavers 67-61 in Midwest Region championship game Monday. The Cougars’ average margin of victory has been 14.0 points.
Houston led by as many as 17 points in the first half before Oregon State roared back to tie the game. However, Quentin Grimes’ three-point field goal with 3:31 broke a 55-55 deadlock and the Cougars never trailed again.
UCLA Crashes Party
UCLA edged Michigan 51-49 in the East Region final on Tuesday night to complete its journey from the First Four to the Final Four. The Bruins entered the tournament on a four-game losing streak and was relegated to a play-in game in which they beat Michigan State.

Subsequently, UCLA has defeated BYU, Abilene Christian, and Alabama before taking out the top-seeded Wolverines. The Bruins’ average margin of victory has been 9.8 points.
Johnny Juzang scored 28 points despite playing most of the second half on an injured ankle. Meanwhile, Michigan missed three-field goal attempts in the last 19 seconds.
