The Wolverines looked to be on their way to an easy win as well in the first round, taking a 14-point lead into halftime against #12 UC San Diego. But the Tritons came almost all the way back, pulling within a single point (45-44) less than six minutes into the second half.

Dusty May’s team showed its mettle by immediately stretching the lead back to double-digits over the next three minutes, only to give it all back and find itself trailing by one with under two minutes to play. But as they’ve done all season, Michigan came out on the right side of a hyper-close game. would end up on the right side of a 68-65 win65. Michigan has now won 12 games this season by four points or fewer.

Vladislav Goldin had a team-high 14 points while Danny Wolf’s game-high 11 rebounds helped the Wolverines finish +6 on the glass.
