Well, this it is. It’s been a fantastic ride through this college basketball season, especially the tournament. But all that is behind us now as only two teams remain. We’re talking the Florida Gators and Houston Cougars here people. That’s it. Of all the teams to lace ’em up this season, only the Gators and Cougars are left standing. I don’t have to tell you that the classiest thing we can do as sports bettors is to take one guy from each side to go over their point total for the night. Throw them in a same-game parlay and now we’re cooking with grease. It’s the best possible way I know for us to send these guys out with a bang. Feels right.

Florida vs Houston Parlay Leg #1: Walter Clayton Jr Over 19.5 Points

If we’re talking one guy from each side to go over their point totals, then we should pick the best guy on each team. That kind of logic is undefeated in this game we play which is pretty good. Lucky for us, the best guy on the Florida Gators’ side is very easy to spot. We’re talking Walter Clayton Jr. people.

People say he’s just as good as Larry Bird.

Here’s the thing with Clayton Jr, he’s unstoppable. If you need a guy to get to the rim, he can do that. Want a contested three-pointer? He’s got that in his bag too. The guy is coming off of two games where he absolutely shredded his opponent and he appears to just be getting better.

I know the haters are going to say that the Houston Cougars will be focused on him so he won’t be able to do anything. That’s just not a smart take. Do they think that he snuck up on Auburn and Texas Tech? Of course not. They knew who he was and he still dropped 30+ on both of them. We only need 20 tonight. Feels easy.

Houston/Florida SGP Leg #2: LJ Cryer Over 16.5 Points

Searching for the best guy on the Houston side was a little tougher but at the end of the day, it was still pretty easy. We need a guy who can go get us 25+ at any moment who also might not come off the floor. That guy is without a doubt, LJ Cryer.

At the end of the day, the kid is battle-tested. He’s legit already won a natty at another school. He knows what he’s doing.

The thing with Cryer is, we’ll need his shot to be on. Sure he can get to the rim and score, but at some point he’s going to need to can a few threes if he’s going to get home on 16.5 points. That’s just how math works.

The good new is, LJ has taken at least eight threes in every tournament game except one so he’s not afraid of the moment. He’s hit at least four threes in three of those tourney games so there’s that too. All we need is for this guy to find his stroke early and we’re set. Between us, I think he can do it. Feels easy.

  • The Bet: LJ Cryer Over 16.5 Points (-128) – FanDuel
