Borussia Dortmund and Malaga will face each other this Tuesday as both look for a spot in the UEFA Champions League semifinals.  Germans and Spanish will clash at 14:45 PM ET at Signal-Iduna-Park.

The first game ended with a 0-0 draw, and knowing that Bayern Munich is already the German Champion and Barcelona is on their way to the Spanish crown, both Dortmund and Malaga only hopes for a good season remains in this tournament.

We played a serious game and we have the same possibility as them of getting through to the semi-finals. “We are in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the level gets higher all the time. This is a positive result for us”, said Malaga wing Joaquin about the first match.

“Beginning a two-match tie at home always increases tension, and the need to focus on the attack and score. However we didn’t concede any goals, meaning Borussia now have that problem. The result is absolutely wide open.

“In the return leg we’ll hopefully be able to create enough space in order to score and get through to the semi-finals.”

Borussia hasn’t been in a semifinal since the 1997 UEFA Champions League, when they were able to win the entire tournament by beating Juventus 3-1 in the final.

Malaga has never been at this stage, but coach Manuel Pellegrini led Villarreal in the 2005/06 season to the semis, missing the opportunity to be in the final after losing to Arsenal.

Whoever wins will be in the next round, but if there is a draw with goals, the Spanish will be the winners of the series.
