Women’s Olympic Boxing transpires between July 24th and August 8th. The Tokyo Games gathers together some of the most proficient pugilists on the planet to determine who stands above the rest.
There are a variety of start times for the myriad of weight categories represented in this elite-level athletic contest. Odds for the 69 kg, middleweight, featherweight, and flyweight divisions for the female fighters can be found below.
Women’s Olympic Boxing 69 kg Odds
Fighter | Odds at DraftKings |
---|---|
Busenaz Surmeneli (TUR) | +150 |
Gu Hong (CHN) | +225 |
Chen Nien-Chin (TPE) | +250 |
Oshae Jones (USA) | +650 |
Angela Carini (ITA) | +900 |
Lovlina Borgohain (IND) | +1200 |
All odds as of July 23rd
Busenaz Surmeneli is a Turkish world champion boxer who has emerged as the favorite with her deep resume that consists of multiple youth titles.
Surmeneli has medaled at World and European championships as both a welterweight and a middleweight. This 69 kg category is a sweet spot somewhat in the middle.

Busenaz Surmeneli steps in for her 30th amateur bout, has never been stopped inside the distance, and is riding a three-fight win streak.
Ultimately, Surmeneli’s previous successes in those aforementioned categories coupled with also having prior wins in past competitive efforts at 69 kg lead me to go with her as a solid bet.
Pick: Busenaz Surmeneli (+150)
Women’s Olympic Boxing Middleweight Odds
Fighter | Odds at DraftKings |
---|---|
Lauren Price (GBR) | +110 |
Qian Li (CHN) | +300 |
Nouchka Fontijn (NED) | +350 |
Zenfira Magomedalieva (ROC) | +700 |
Tammara Thibeault | +1000 |
Khadija El-Mardi | +1200 |
Lauren Price has been carving a swath through the competition for years and has not tasted defeat in a meaningful period of time. Naomi Graham (+1200) is someone that pundits are theorizing could be a solid dark horse among these warriors but I’m a tad bullish.
Price does have competitive familiarity with this field of talent as evidenced by her prior showdown with Nouchka Fontijn.

Price made history by becoming the first Welsh woman to win a Commonwealth Games boxing medal. She secured bronze in 2014 and followed this up by securing gold in the 2018 games.
I think the gold trend will continue through these Olympics for Lauren. The price is right when making a bet on the Women’s Olympic Boxing Middleweight finals.
Pick: Lauren Price (+110)
Women’s Olympic Boxing Featherweight Odds
Fighter | Odds at DraftKings |
---|---|
Lin Yu-ting (TPE) | +150 |
Irma Testa (ITA) | +250 |
Nesthy Petecio (PHI) | +350 |
Liudmila Vorontsova (ROC) | +800 |
Karriss Artingstall (GBR) | +900 |
Stanimira Petrova (BUL) | +1200 |
Lin Yu-ting has medaled at the 2018 and 2019 amateur world championships.
Overall she has captured those medals in major competitions across Asia and on the World level across the flyweight, bantamweight, and featherweight categories.

It’s apropos that the 25-year-old Yu-ting will next have her 25th amateur bout.
I think the speed edge, experience across several divisions, and proficiency in technique will guide Yu-ting to a gold medal securing effort.
Pick: Lin Yu-ting (+150)
Women’s Olympic Boxing Flyweight Odds
Fighter | Odds at DraftKings |
---|---|
Buse Naz Cakiroglu (TUR) | +160 |
Virginia Fuchs (USA) | +300 |
Stoyka Krasteva (BUL) | +450 |
Mary Kom (IND) | +700 |
Huang Hsiao-wen (TPE) | +800 |
Thi Tam Nguyen (VIE) | +1200 |
Buse Naz Cakiroglu is a 25-year-old warrior who fittingly has had 25 bouts and represents Turkey on this global platform.
The accomplished flyweight has garnered several gold medals across meaningful European tournaments and captured a silver medal during the 2019 Worlds.

Along with the aforementioned Surmeneli, Buse Naz Cakiroglu makes history as the Olympics have never before featured a Turkish representative in a women’s boxing competition.
In the end, Cakiroglu has the momentum favoring her here and I can see that propelling her to the top spot on the podium.
Pick: Buse Naz Cakiroglu (+160)
