Fight Details and How to Watch

The Fury vs Usyk fight card is scheduled to start at 12:00 PM ET, with the main event expected to begin around 6:00 PM ET. The event will be broadcast live on pay-per-view through DAZN and ESPN+, with a price tag of $69.99.

The undercard features several intriguing matchups, including:
– Jai Opetaia vs Mairis Briedis for the vacant IBF cruiserweight title
– Joe Cordina defending his IBF super featherweight title against Anthony Cacace
– A heavyweight clash between Frank Sanchez and Agit Kabayel

Tyson Fury: The Gypsy King

Tyson Fury (34-0-1, 24 KOs) has established himself as one of the most dominant heavyweights of his generation. The 35-year-old Brit is known for his unconventional fighting style, exceptional movement, and ability to outbox opponents despite his 6’9″ frame.

Fury’s most recent outing was a lackluster split decision win over former UFC champion Francis Ngannou in October 2023. Prior to that, he had scored impressive victories over Deontay Wilder (twice) and Dillian Whyte.

To defeat Usyk, Fury will need to utilize his size and reach advantages. By keeping the fight at range and using his jab effectively, he can disrupt Usyk’s rhythm and prevent the Ukrainian from getting inside. Fury’s ability to switch stances and fight at different tempos could also prove crucial in keeping Usyk off-balance.

However, Fury has shown vulnerabilities in the past, particularly against smaller, faster opponents. If he allows Usyk to dictate the pace and control the distance, he could find himself outboxed and outmaneuvered.

Oleksandr Usyk: The Cat

Oleksandr Usyk (21-0, 14 KOs) is widely regarded as one of the most skilled boxers in the sport today. The 37-year-old Ukrainian is a former undisputed cruiserweight champion who has seamlessly transitioned to heavyweight, capturing multiple titles in just his third fight in the division.

Usyk’s most notable wins at heavyweight have come against Anthony Joshua, whom he defeated twice in 2021 and 2022. In his most recent bout, Usyk stopped Daniel Dubois in the ninth round to retain his titles.

To emerge victorious against Fury, Usyk will need to rely on his superior footwork, hand speed, and technical prowess. By staying elusive and using angles, he can avoid Fury’s jab and create openings for his own offense. Usyk’s ability to string together combinations and vary his attack will be key in keeping Fury guessing.

The main concern for Usyk is whether he can handle Fury’s size and strength over 12 rounds. If Fury manages to impose his will and smother Usyk’s offense, the Ukrainian could find himself in unfamiliar territory.

Fury vs Usky Prediction

This fight has all the makings of a classic chess match between two masters of their craft. While Fury’s size and reach give him a clear advantage on paper, Usyk’s skill and adaptability cannot be overlooked.

Ultimately, I believe Usyk’s superior technique and ring IQ will prove to be the difference. He has consistently risen to the occasion against larger opponents and has shown an uncanny ability to make mid-fight adjustments.

My prediction is for Oleksandr Usyk to win a close but clear unanimous decision, with scores in the range of 116-112 or 115-113. He will use his footwork and combination punching to outmaneuver Fury and pile up points over the course of 12 rounds.

Fury vs Usyk Pick:

  • Usyk by Decision or Technical Decision (+185)
