Moloney versus Franco I
The first iteration of Andrew Moloney vs Joshua Franco provided sweet science aficionados with a notable upset victory. In my coverage leading into the first bout, Andrew Moloney was positioned as a -1200 favorite.
Joshua Franco shocked many when he got the unanimous decision nod and claimed championship gold during that bout last June.

Joshua Franco is no stranger to taking part in three consecutive fights with a high-level pugilist.
He tested skills with Oscar Negrete and went 1-0-2 through that Fall 2018 to Summer 2019 stretch. A pair of split draws bookending Franco’s split decision victory.
Moloney vs Franco II
Franco vs Moloney II saw a disparately different story unfurl than the initial throwdown. The November 2020 rematch between these two warriors was a hectic scene that was rife with controversy.
Moloney got off to a fast start and many saw his prying jab as being the cause of pronounced swelling on Franco’s face.
The referee inexplicably ruled that the eye injury came via headbutt and the contest was eventually thrown out and called a no-decision thereafter. This despite around half an hour of instant replay analysis in a baffling display of ineptitude on many levels.

Many thought that Moloney was robbed of a TKO victory. The controversy existed to such a scale that the WBA mandated this third bout. These combatants have a lot of localized intel on the other. That can lend itself to a calculated, cerebral chess match in this three-peat performance.
The stakes are high for both with Franco looking to validate his title run and prove it’s not a fluke while conversely, Moloney aims to cement himself as a two-time world champion.

In the end, I see Andrew Moloney notching a victory within this Joshua Franco series here. The nature of how the sequel between the two was unfolding leads me to believe that Moloney will get it done in this trilogy contest.
Considering Franco’s stoppage rate which is just above fifty percent and Moloney’s stoppage rate of 67 percent, I think this twelve-round contest goes to the judges’ scorecards.
There’s value, in my estimation, on prop bets related to this bout going the distance and Moloney winning via points/ decision.
Pick: Andrew Moloney (-195)
