- Braekhus vs. Bustos goes down on November 30
- Will Braekhus remain undefeated?
- Can Bustos become an undisputed champion again as a 10-1 underdog?
Cecilia Braekhus is fighting for the first time in 2019 as she battles Victoria Bustos on November 30 in Monte Carlo, Monaco where the WBA, IBF, WBO, and IBO female welterweight titles are on the line.
Braekhus is in the conversation for the best female boxer and is looking to prove that once again here. She has been dominant in her career, while Bustos has had ups and downs but claimed the interim IBF welterweight title last time out.
Cecilia Braekhus vs Victoria Bustos Odds
Fighter | Book 1 Odds | Book 2 Odds |
---|---|---|
Cecilia Braekhus | -2500 | -2000 |
Victoria Bustos | +1000 | +900 |
Odds taken Nov. 26
Braekhus was the first woman to hold all the major belts in her division when she beat Ivana Habazin in 2014. Since then, she has been defending the titles and trying to be considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters regardless of gender, as she is clear-cut one of the top female boxers.
Cecilia Braekhus Has Been on a Roll
Cecilia Braekhus has simply dominated all her opponents and has taken the majority by decision as she picks her shots and uses her pace and cardio to edge out dominant decision wins.

Yet, she does have a few TKO wins, including a very impressive TKO win over Anne Sophie Mathis in the second round. That is considered one of her standout performances of her career and proved to the world she has knockout power and can end the fights early on. Out of her 35 wins, nine are by TKO/KO but she has not gotten one since 2017.
Victoria Bustos Hoping to Have Success in New Division
Victoria Bustos has primarily been fighting at lightweight and light welterweight but will now move up to welterweight for this title fight. It is the biggest fight of Bustos’ career and an important one. She defended the lightweight title five times and then ran into Katie Taylor who is one of the top boxers, where she lost by decision.
She followed that up by winning the interim welterweight title in her next fight and is 1-0 in this new division. Now, she gets a massive test against Braekhus who has looked unstoppable in her career. Yet, Bustos has a good jab that she can rely on and try to outpoint the champ here.
Tale of the Tape
35-0 | Record | 19-5 |
9 | Knockouts | 0 |
5’7.5″ | Height | 5’4.5″ |
Mikaela Lauren, Mia St. John, Anne Sophie Mathis, Klara Svensson |
Significant Wins | Enis Pacheco, Kimberly Connor, Claudia Lopez |
Orthodox | Stance | Orthodox |
The majority of her wins come by decision and Bustos has never been stopped in her career, so I think Braekhus will be able to be the more efficient fighter and earn a unanimous decision win. The win could also set up a super fight with Claressa Shields that has been rumored for months.
Pick: Cecilia Braekhus (-2000)
