Ontario Sports Betting Market Adds Three New iGaming Operators

The Ontario online sports betting market is heating up in a major way as more companies have become registered iGaming operators in the province.
In addition to registered online sportsbooks such as theScore Bet and PointsBet, there were a few new additions to the list of registered iGaming operators on the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) website on Wednesday.
Three iGaming Operators Added to Ontario Sports Betting Market
Since opening registration for iGaming operators in September 2021, the likes of theScore Bet, PointsBet, and Rivalry Corp. already received their registrations last month.

On Wednesday, however, there were three new iGaming operators that appeared on the list:
- VHL Ontario Ltd.
- NSUS Ltd.
- Annexio Ltd.
While those names alone might not mean a whole lot to the average sports bettor, VHL Ontario Ltd. appears to have ties to 888sport while NSUS Ltd. seems to have a connection to the World Series of Poker—which is owned by Caesars Entertainment.
It’s also of note that 30 operators have applied for registration. This means we’re likely to see a host of new iGaming operators pop up in Ontario over the coming weeks leading up to the April 4 launch of private sportsbooks.
This should come as no surprise to anyone following online sports betting in North America. Ontario is comparable in population to US states such as Illinois and Pennsylvania. Setting up sportsbook apps in Ontario is big money for many operators and they will likely do everything in their power to make sure they’re active when the market opens up.
What Ontario Sportsbooks Could Be Coming Next?
The Canada sports betting scene is set to explode with the launch of private sportsbooks in Ontario on April 4. With 30 operators already in the mix for a coveted operator license in the Heartland Province, it’s likely all the major players will be in tow.

As you can see, there are plenty of big name sportsbooks that we expect to join the Ontario sports betting market when private sportsbooks launch. With theScore Bet and PointsBet already registered, it’s likely only a matter of time until the likes of DraftKings and FanDuel land a birth of their own for their Ontario grand entrances.
