Sports bettors in the Old Line State, get ready.
Online Maryland sports betting can launch next week after SWARC unanimously approved 10 sportsbook apps in a highly anticipated meeting earlier this morning.
The 10 approved sportsbook apps now move to the MLGCA for a final review of internal controls and controlled demonstrations. These regulatory requirements are largely considered a formality at this point, and Maryland online sports betting could be up and running before Thanksgiving.
Catch all the details on today’s pivotal meeting and sign up early with some of these sports betting apps to claim limited-time promos.
Online Maryland Sports Betting Likely Starts Next Week, 10 Sportsbooks Approved By SWARC
Maryland sports betting apps are expected to launch next week as 10 sportsbook apps have been approved by the Sports Wagering Application Review Committee (SWARC). With newly minted online sports betting licenses, these ten operators will move to a MLGCA meeting tomorrow morning for final reviews before mobile wagering can get underway.
SWARC adjourns for the day. 10 online sports betting license applications approved.
Applicants will now move to MLGCA for internal control review and controlled demonstrations.
No go-live date was announced. Still expected to be sometime next week, hopefully by Thanksgiving.

The 10 approved sportsbook apps each partnered with land based casino operators or pro sports teams in order to qualify their applications with SWARC. The 10 MD sportsbook apps and their partners are as follows:
- FanDuel Sportsbook Maryland (PPE Maryland Mobile LLC)
- Barstool Sportsbook Maryland (Penn Maryland OSB LLC)
- BetMGM Maryland (MGM National Harbor Casino)
- Caesars Sportsbook Maryland (Horseshoe Baltimore Casino)
- DraftKings promo code (Maryland State Fairgrounds)
- BetFanatics (Washington Commanders)
- Parx Interactive (Greenmount OTB LLC)
- PointsBet (Riverboat on the Potomac, LLC)
- Rush Street Interactive’s BetRivers (Arundel Amusements Inc)
The Maryland State Lottery & Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA) is scheduled to meet tomorrow morning at 10am local time to give a final review for each of these online sports betting operators. An official launch date could be announced at this time, however, operators like Caesars Sportsbook Maryland have already started communicating a Nov. 23 launch date.
Either way, there’s a good chance that Maryland online sports betting is up and running before Thanksgiving. This would give Marylanders the opportunity to start wagering on sportsbook apps during one of the biggest weekends of sports in the entire year.
Washington Commanders Officially Partner With BetFanatics
One of the biggest developments from today’s SWARC meeting is the confirmation that the Washington Commanders have partnered with the Fanatics Sportsbook, which is likely launching under the ‘BetFanatics’ name. This confirmation comes after weeks of speculation that the Commanders would partner with this new operator that has yet to launch their sports betting product.

The news comes after the Commanders secured an upset win over Philadelphia, handing the Eagles their first loss of the season. Meanwhile, the Baltimore Ravens are set to return this weekend against the Carolina Panthers after a bye week, adding to all the excitement surrounding Maryland online sports betting.
While it’s currently unclear if BetFanatics MD is ready to launch next week, it’s now official that they’ll be partnered with the Washington Commanders moving forward. We’re tracking the potential launch of BetFanatics across the country very closely.
