One of the most fascinating games of the January 1st bowl’s lineup will have the Wisconsin Badgers taking on the South Carolina Gamecocks, at the Florida Citrus Bowl at 1 PM ET for the Capital One Bowl.
Wisconsin is 9-3 this season and 8-2 ATS in games played on turf this season. The Badgers enter this game after three years of coming up short in the Rose Bowl.
“We’re not taking this game lightly at all,” Wisconsin safety Dez Southward told the school’s official website. “This is an enormous game. Just because it’s not the Rose Bowl, just because it’s not a BCS bowl game, it doesn’t mean the opponent is not the same caliber. That’s the case with South Carolina. They’re above and beyond almost anybody we’ve played this year.”
South Carolina DE Jadeveon Clowney will play his last game with the school in the Capital One Bowl before becoming eligible for the NFL Draft.
“They can run the ball pretty well,” Clowney told the school’s official website. “They’ll try to pound it at us. We’ve got to be ready to stop the run. I think they pass the ball a lot more than you expect. They do a lot of play-action pass.”
The College Football Odds have the as Badgers 1.5 point favorites for this one, and the game total was set at 51 points. Keep in mind there are no trends for this matchup because these two schools haven’t met before.
