  • The #1 Georgia Bulldogs are 10-point road favorites at the #21 Tennessee Volunteers in their SEC college football game on Saturday, November 18
  • Georgia owns the nation’s longest active win streak of 27 games
  • However, the Bulldogs are just 13-13-1 against the spread over that span

As they prepare to face the Tennessee Volunteers (7-3, 7-3 ATS) in a key SEC game, the Georgia Bulldogs (10-0, 3-6-1 ATS) are all about winning. They’ve posted 27 successive victories, the longest active win streak in the nation.

Covering? Well, that’s an entirely different matter. Georgia is a middling 13-13-1 against the spread over that 27-game win streak. This season, the Bulldogs are 3-6-1 ATS.

At Tennessee, Georgia is set as the 10-point road chalk in the Bulldogs vs Volunteers odds, and that could prove problematic. Georgia is 5-9-1 ATS in the past 15 games as a double-digit favorite.

Let’s take a deeper look into the Georgia vs Tennessee odds and offer you our prediction for this Week 12 battle of SEC giants.

Team Moneyline Spread Total
Georgia Bulldogs -380 -10.0 (-115) Over 58.5 (-110)

Bulldogs vs Volunteers Betting Trends

Despite Georgia’s ATS issues this season, the college football public betting splits are displaying that the people are retaining confidence in the Bulldogs. In the public spread splits, Georgia is getting 52% of handle and 73% of bets. The Bulldogs are 1-2 ATS on the road this season.

Public moneyline wagering is massively with Georgia. The Bulldogs are drawing 100% of handle and 95% of bets in the moneyline splits. Georgia is 5-1 SU in the last six games at Tennessee.

The people are all over the over in the total splits. It’s getting 78% of both handle and bets. Three of the last four games between the Bulldogs and Volunteers have gone over, as have six of Georgia’s last seven games.

Georgia is the +225 second betting choice in the National Championship odds.  The Bulldogs are set at 11.5 in the NCAA win total odds. It’s -375 that they’ll go over and +270 that they go under.

Georgia On Verge Of SEC History

A win over Tennessee on Saturday will be making SEC history for the Bulldogs. Since the conference went to an eight-game schedule in 1992, no school has ever run the table and gone 8-0 in three successive seasons.

Georgia’s senior class has posted 47 wins. Only the 2022 senior class (49 wins) ranks ahead of them.

The Bulldogs are among three schools that rank in the top 10 in both scoring offense (sixth, 40.6 points per game) and scoring defense (sixth, 15.6 PPG allowed). Georgia is #7 in the NCAA in third-down defense, allowing just 28% of third-down conversions. Offensively, the Bulldogs lead the country in converting third downs, with a 56% success rate.

Volunteers Hot At Home

The Volunteers have a streak of their own that they’ll be looking to continue on Saturday. Tennessee has won 14 home games in a row SU. Only Georgia (25) and Michigan (21) own longer active home win streaks.

The Vols are #8 in the nation in rushing offense, gaining 213.3 yards per game. They also entered last week as the SEC’s #1 run defense (97 yards allowed per game). However, SEC rushing leader Cody Schrader shredded Tennessee off 205 yards on the ground in Missouri’s 36-7 win.

Tennessee’s defense ranks second in the SEC with 33 sacks. The Volunteers are 3-3 SU in the SEC and are 1-2 SU against SEC schools with winning records in conference play this season. They’re also 5-23 SU in their last 28 games against ranked teams.

Georgia vs Tennessee Prediction

It’s said that good teams win, but great teams cover. Looking at the big picture, Georgia hasn’t been an effective ATS this season. However, narrow the focus and the picture changes somewhat.

When favored by between 10-19 points, the Bulldogs are 9-0 SU and 7-2 ATS in the past nine games. Georgia is also 4-0 SU and ATS in the past four against Tennessee. The Bulldogs are 3-0 SU and ATS the last three games in which they were favored between 10-19 points over the Volunteers.

Georgia vs Tennessee Pick: Georgia Bulldogs -10 (-115)
