AL Cy Young Award Race Timeline
- April 10 – The Mariners’ Logan Gilbert has seen his Cy Young odds shorten from +1080 to +612, after posting a 2.55 ERA and 25 Ks despite going 0-1 in three starts/
- February 26 – Fresh off his 2024 Cy Young win, the Detroit Tigers’ Tarik Skubal sits at +400 to be named the top AL pitcher in back-to-back season. He’s just ahead of the Red Sox’s Garrett Crochet (+600) and the Royals’ Cole Ragans (+900).

NL Cy Young Award Race Timeline
- April 10 – Make room for Spencer Schwellenbach at the top of the odds table! The Braves’ righty ERA is still 0.00 after two starts and, with a WHIP at a league-best 0.286, is now averaging +733 to win the NL Cy Young.
- February 26 – Pirates’ sensation Paul Skenes, fresh off an ROY win in ’24, as a big favorite to win the National League Cy Young Award. Sitting at +300, he opens ahead of Zack Wheeler (+750) and 2024 NL Cy Young winner Chris Sale (+800).
AL Cy Young Winners by Team
The Boston Red Sox lead the American League with seven AL Cy Young Award wins. The first went to Jim Lonborg, way back in 1967, and was followed by three wins for Roger Clemens (1986, 1987, 1991), two for Pedro Martinez (1999, 2000), and one for Rick Porcello (2016).
To date, the Texas Rangers are the only AL team to never have won the Cy Young, but they’ve certainly come close. Ferguson Jenkins (1974) and Yu Darvish (2012) both finished second in voting, while Nolan Ryan (1989) finished fifth.
NL Cy Young Winners by Team
The only NL club to miss out on a Cy Young win are the Colorado Rockies. The closest the Rockies have come to winning the NL’s pitching award was in 2010, when Ubaldo Jimenez finished third in voting, behind Roy Halladay and Adam Wainwright.
The tables above extend back to 1956, when just one award was given to players in both leagues. It also includes wins in both leagues by the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers, who respectively moved to their current leagues in 2013 and 1998, as well as the lone win for the Montreal Expos in 1997 before their relocation to Washington, DC.
